In this paper, Improve pedestrian’s head protection performance and cost / weight reduction through the development of absorbing hood hinge. By this new mechanism, we have to ensure mass production. This new mechanism hinge open and absorbing were performed at the same structure. Implemented a mechanism capable of operating at no actuator. As a result, the improvement of the layout, I was reduced by 30% or more size / weight / cost compared to the prior hinge. Through this paper absorbing head crush mechanism, absorbing hood hinge development to effective pedestrian protection performance, and minimize the burden on the customer.
