        This article is a small challenge to combat prejudice against short films. To this end, the concept and meaning of short films are summarized, and film festivals as a platform to introduce and screen short films in Korea are examined. In particular, by using a kind of auto ethnography method, it describes the experience of introducing Chinese cultural area films. As a specific example of analysis, the narrative tendency of some short films screened at the ‘2016 Taiwan Film Festival’ are analyzed. The narrative tendencies of the seven Taiwanese short films can be categorized into violent of traditional family system, the sociality and reality of narrative topics, the transidentity agenda and its complexity and the structure of narrative reversal. It is a challenge in our time to discover the possibility of short films as a ‘young’ films and to design a platform for them in Asia to interact. Short films have enough imagination and narrative power to lead future films. I hope that the theoretical discussions and practical efforts for various short films in Asia will be more active, and further expand the scope of mutual sympathy, embracement, approval, and understanding through ‘Asian feeling’.
