This study has been undertaken to study the implications of fixtures and fittings that have been included in the construction process in apartment flats, its present condition, the effective use of such fittings and inconvenience felt by the residents. The questionnaire survey, interviews, measurements, photographing and sketches were completed, with the target segment being 28 residents currently using built-in fixtures and fittings or having had experience of such fittings, in the period of May 28th to 29th of 2004. 97% of the interviewees applied for an increase in Wall-type Furniture System for storage, 12 interviewees (42.9%) used the fixtures and fittings as they were and 2 residents had refurbished their homes. It is evident that some of the fixtures were moved or some even fully removed according to the changing needs such as childrens‘ requirements. The satisfaction brought upon by the designs and colour was relatively high while the satisfaction rate of the quality was found to be low. The satisfaction from existing Wall-type Furniture System was comparatively higher than that of housing without existing fixtures and fittings but the satisfaction rate of desks was found to be low. Additionally, improvement suggestions were as follows: improvement in quality and its ability to insulate sound.
