        민관협력 노인구강건강증진사업 수혜자 평가

        Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a seniors` oral health promotion program for establishing a cooperation model between public and private sectors. Methods: This study was carried out targeting the seniors frequenting a community center in the Sosagudistrict of Bucheon-si in the Gyeonggi-do province of South Korea. Data were obtained from self ad ministered questionnaires or personal interviews with elders after they participated in the oral health promotion program. Their perceived satisfaction with their oral health before and after the oral health program was compared. The data were analyzed by t-tests, ANOVA, paired t-tests, and logistic regressionusing SPSS to assess the effects of explanatory factors on the seniors` satisfaction of the oral health promotion program. Results: In total, 22.7% of participants had a positive idea about the oral health promotion program before their participation. The mean score of change in and difference of satisfaction with oral health tended to increase in each of the following groups: women, aged 80-84 years, number of permanent teeth, full denture wearers, and those who did not require dentures. Satisfaction notably increased 0.4points in the group of full denture wearers (P<0.05). Moreover, after 1 month, the satisfaction level of the subjects who participated in the oral health promotion program increased 5.2 times (95% CI, 1.04-25.49) compared to dissatisfaction levels. Ultimately, satisfaction with oral health shows a major impact on the satisfaction with an oral health promotion program. Conclusions: The subjects who received the oral health promotion program responded very positively, but this program needs overall consideration about work processes and further reliable evaluations.

        임플란트 종류 및 식립부위에 따른 안정성에 대한 RFA 분석

        Objective : This research compared stabilities between two types of dental implant (SLATM, Institut Straumann AG, Waldenburg, Switzerland and SSⅡTM, Osstem co, Busan, Korea) using Osstell Mentor (Integration Diagnostics AB, Goteborg, Sweden) considering surgery methods, surgery area, diameter of implant, systemic disease, and smoking for obtaining prognosis information when installing fixture of dental implant. Materials & Methods : 206 implants of 131 patients taken by resonance frequency analysis (RFA) were determined as a final sample. Dental implants were installed as protocol of supplier by a excellent dentist who had 10 years experience about dental implants. Before connecting abutments (3 months after installation of fixture), RFA were measured twice for buccal and lingual direction to obtain average value. Results : Dental implants at mandible showed significantly higher stabilities significantly than at maxilla (p<0.001). Diameter 4.8 implants had also higher stabilities than diameter 4.1 in case of SLATM implants (p<0.001). SLATM implants showed more excellent stabilities than SSⅡTM implants, especially at posterior area of mandible (p=0.045) and premolar area of maxilla (p=0.032). Conclusions : This research revealed higher stabilities of SLATM implants than SSⅡTM implant, especially at posterior area of mandible (p=0.045) and premolar area of maxilla (p=0.032).

        도시관급수 및 시판지하수의 불소이온농도에 관한 조사연구

        Fluoridation of public water supplies is a remarkably efficient method of controlling dental caries at the community level. Therefore, in recent years Korean government has a program to expand the area of water fluoridation. The purpose of this study was to prepare the basic data for expansion of water fluoridation. The Piped water fluoride ion concentrations of 1550 areas among the results of drinking water examination by environmental department in 1997, 1998 were examined. On the basis of the result, The fluoride ion concentrations of 20 piped waters of the area in which water fluoridations is to be put in operation were measured. The piped water fluoride ion concentrations of 3 Naturally fluoridated areas and 11 artificially fluoridated areas and 104 nonfluoridated areas were examined. The fluoride ion concentrations of 24 bottled drinking water were examined. The period of these examinations is from April to June in 1998. The obtained results were as follows: 1. All the fluoride ion concentrations of 20 piped waters of the area in which water fluoridations is to be put in operation were under 0.3ppm. 2. All the piped water fluoride ion concentrations of 104 nonfluoridated areas were under 0.5ppm. 3. All the piped water fluoride ion concentrations of 11 artificially fluoridated areas were from 0.6ppm to 0.9ppm. 4. The difference of the streams of the piped waters in the nonfluoridated areas were not founded. 5. The fluoride ion concentrations of Jeonlabokdo Jangsugun Janggaemyon and Chungcheong-bokdo Goysangun Bulgeongmyun were 0.6ppm. This level is enough to prevent dental caries. but, The fluoride ion concentration of Chungcheongbokdo Chungjusi Judeokeub was 4.5ppm, so this level was needed to lower. 6. All the fluoride ion concentrations of 24 bottled drinking water were under 0.4ppm except Dongwonsaemmul and Sparkle(Saemul) and Water King.
