본 연구는 보홀 관광객의 이용행태가 생태관광객의 특성을 가지고 있는지의 여부를 선행연구 에 기초하여 판단하고, 각 생태관광지의 특징 및 문제점을 파악하여 보홀 지역의 생태관광 실태를 분석하는데 그 목적이 있다. 보홀은 초콜릿 힐, 안경원숭이 서식지, 망그로브 등 독특하고 희귀한 자연 경관을 보유하고 있는 곳으로 생태 관광 활성 화를 위한 노력을 계속하고 있다. 하지만 홍보활동이 일부 지역에 국한되어 있고, 생태관광 관련 프로그램이나 가이드의 활동 또한 부족한 실정이다. 또한 설문조사를 통해 보홀 방문객들은 아름다운 경관에 대해서는 공감하지 만 일반 대중관광객과 같이 높은 시설 수준을 기대하여 생태관광에 대한 충분한 이해가 부족한 것으로 사료된다. 보홀 사례를 통해 국내 생태관광 관리전략 수립에 있어서 단순히 ``생태관광`` 용어를 내세운 관광지 홍보보다는 지속가능하고 책임 있는 여행행동을 요구하는 인식을 심어주고, 이러한 원칙을 반영 한 생태관광개발이 이루어 져야 할 것이다. 이로써 생태계의 본질을 변화 시키지 않으면서 관광활동을 즐길 수 있는 기반이 구축될 것이다. This purpose of this study is to analysis the Bohol Ecotourism by judging whether Bohol`s tourists have the characteristic of Ecotourists and understanding the characteristic and problems of Bohol Ecotourism sites. Bohol has rare, unique and fascinating sites like Chocolate Hills, Tarsier Sanctuary, Mangrove and so on, Bohol continues the efforts to promote ecotourism by utilizing these natural resources, However, the public relations activities are limited in certain areas and Ecotourism programs or tourism field guides are also insufficient, The survey was conducted to find out the characteristic of Bohol tourists, The survey showed that Bohol tourists sympathize with the beautiful natural landscape, but expected the higher level of facilities like general public tourists. It is thought that they still lack all understanding of ecotourism. According to the Bohol case, when establishing the domestic ecotourism strategy, it is important to give people consciousness on sustainable and responsible travel behavior rather than promote it. This will make the authentic eco-tourism happen and the ecosystem will be kept in balance.
