The reaction characteristics and properties of a catalyst treated with a mesophase polymer which had a siloxyl flexible group in the polymer main chain was conducted for the improvement of exchange reactivity in H₂O-H₂S exchange system. The results Were as follows, The catalyst activity was alrnostly not changed with respect to the reaction time and the reaction temperature, while the untreated one showed a rapid reduction in its activity within at least 4 minutes. H₂O-H₂S exchange reaction ratio was increased to 0.4% at 90℃ and 8hr, further more, reverse exchange reaction ratios were also observed at low temperature (25℃ and 40℃) for the evidence of an applicability for dual temperature process. It was elucidated that hydrogen atom in H₂0 molecule can conduct with the catalyst surface through the Si-CH₂site in the main chain of the coating polymer.
