한부모가정 성인자녀의 자립과정과 노동시장 참여 경험에 대한 사례연구

본 연구는 한부모가족 지원 정책 확대 과정에서 성장한 한부모가정 자녀의 자립과정과 노동시장 참여 경험을 이해하고 자립 지원을 위한 경험적 근거 마련을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 한 부모가정 자녀 중 노동시장에 참여 중인 청년 6명을 심층 인터뷰하고 ATLAS.ti 9을 활용해 분석하였다. 구체적으로 자립 의미, 과정, 자립을 위한 노동시장 참여 경험 등 개방질문하고 주제 별 핵심경험을 찾고자하였다. 사례에서 한부모가족 성인자녀는 공간적 독립이 자립의 결정적인 계기로 관찰되었다. 그러나 자립을 위한 공간적 독립은 성인자녀가 경험했던 남겨진 가족이라는 위치를 가족에게 재경험하게 하는 것으로 성인자녀에게 가족 돌봄 걱정과 죄책감을 유발하였다. 또한 노동시장 진입 후 지속된 가족부양이 공간적 독립을 포기하게도 하였다. 가족의 안녕을 최우선한 것이 모순되게도 심리적·공간적 독립을 주저하게 함을 보여준다. 경제적 독립은 노동시장 참여를 통해 달성되는 것으로, 한부모가족 환경에서 성인자녀가 경험한 양육자 희생과 억누른 욕구가 사례의 노동시장 진입과 지속에 영향을 준 것으로 나타났다. 이 과정에서 자기노출을 도운 주변인의 존재는 이들의 주요한 지지 기반이었다. 위와 같은 사례분석을 기반으로 한부모가정 성인자녀의 자립 지원을 위한 방안을 제시하였다. The purpose of this study is to understand the process of self-sufficiency and labor market participation of the children from single-parent families who grew up during the time of expanding the support policy for single-parent families. Six young adults participating in the labor market were interviewed in-depth. ATLAS.ti 9 was used for the analysis of the interview. Open questions such as the meaning of self-sufficiency and its process, experience of participation in the labor market were asked to find core experiences for each subject. Spatial independence was observed as a decisive opportunity for self-sufficiency. However, spatial independence of adult children caused to feel concerns and guilt for leaving the family behind. In addition, the continued family support pressure caused to abandon their will to leave home. It shows that putting family well-being as a top priority makes psychological and spatial independence difficult. The presence of people who helped their self-exposure was confirmed as a decisive factor, too. Based on the results above, practical and institutional measures were suggested to help the children of single-parent families become independent and participate successfully in the labor market.
