A 13-year-old male with normal immunity presented with Aspergillus brain abscess manifestating as frontal headache and fever. $T_2$-weight magnetic resonance imaging revealed a hypointense lesion in the right fronto-temporo-parietal lobe 1cm thickness and left midline shifting. The hypointense appearance on $T_2$-weighted images appears to be characteristic of aspergillosis. Right decompressive craniectomy and removal of subdural empyema right. Abscess culture was Aspergillus fumigatus. Antibiotic treatment with Amphotericin B was given for 2 months postoperatively. No recurrence was identified during 5 month follow-up.

Recently, small hydropower attracts attention because of its clean renewable and abundant energy resources to develop. However, suitable turbine type is not normalized yet in the range of small hydropower and it is necessary to study for the effect ive turbine type. Moreover, relatively high manufacturing cost by the complex structure of the turbine is the highest barrier for developing the small hydropower turbine. Therefore, this study is trying not only, to classify the type of current operating turbines installed in the domestic power plants and turbines supplied in Japan by Japanese manufacturer but also, to examine the practical turbine type and installation site to extract the small hydropower energy effectively.

Recently, greenhouse effect by CO² gas emitted by use of fossil fuel causes earth environmental problem. As a countermeasure of the global warming, small hydropower becomes the focus of attention for its clean and renewable energy sources. Newly developed positive displacement hydraulic turbine shows high efficiency and good applicability for the small hydropower range. The purpose of this study is to clarify the influence of leakage loss and effective head on the performance of the positive displacement hydraulic turbine for the further improvement of the turbine performance. The results show that the turbine, with a smaller side clearance, has much higher efficiency than that with bigger side clearance and it can sustain the high efficiency under the wider range of operation conditions. Pressure in the chamber is equal to the averaged value of inlet and outlet pressures. Sudden pressure decrease by accelerated through-flow between lobe and casing wall results in torque loss.
특정관리대상 재래시장 노후 상가 건축물 유형분류 및 피난안전실태에 관한 연구

국내 재래시장 상가건축물은 타 상업지역 보다 노후화된 상업건축물이 상대적으로 많으며 밀집도 또한 높다고 할 수 있어 화재발생 시 화재확산 속도가 빠르고 화재진압이 어려워 인명 및 재산 피해의 가능성이 크다고 할 수 있다. 이에 따라 정부에서는 재래시장을 특정관리대상으로 지정하여 정기적으로 점검을 하고 있으나 소방시설에 비해 상대적으로 피난계획 및 피난설비에 대해서는 적절한 성능평가 및 점검이 이루어지고 있지 않고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 대구시 소재의 특정관리대상으로 지정된 재래시장 상가건축물을 조사하여 재래시장의 평면유형분류를 하였고, 각 유형이 가지는 특성을 분석하였으며 대상건축물 피난설비의 실태조사를 통해 경년변화에 따른 설비의 노후화 특성을 분석하였다.
유효낙차에 따른 80㎾급 횡류수차의 성능 및 내부유동 해석

최근 신재생에너지 연구개발과 관련하여 소수력발전에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있지만, 기존의 대수력용 수차 시스템과는 달리 소수력에 적당한 수차의 설계법이 아직 확립되어 있지 않기 때문에 고성능의 소수력용 수차의 개발이 요구되고 있다. 그러나, 복잡한 터빈의 구조에 의한 상대적으로 높은 제작단가는 소수력발전용 터빈의 개발에 큰 걸림돌로 작용하고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 수차의 형상이 상대적으로 간단하고 소수력자원에 적용하기가 용이한 80kW급 횡류형 수차에 대하여 유효낙차 변화에 따른 성능 및 내부유동에 대해서 검토하였다. 유효낙차가 증가함에 따라서 원주방향 및 반경방향 속도비가 증가하게 되며, 증가한 원주속도에 의해 각운동량이 증가하여 출력도 커지게 된다. The result shows that as effective head increases, tangential and radial flow velocities increase and thus, the increased tangential velocity contributes to the increase of angular momentum and output torque.
Performance analysis of Savonius Rotor for Wave Energy Conversion using CFD

A general purpose viscous flow solver Ansys CFX is used to study a Savonius type wave energy converter in a 3D numerical viscous wave tank. This paper presents the results of a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of the effect of blade configuration on the performance of 3 bladed Savonius rotors for wave energy extraction. A piston-type wave generator was incorporated in the computational domain to generate the desired incident waves. A complete OWC system with a 3-bladed Savonius rotor was modeled in a three dimensional numerical wave tank and the hydrodynamic conversion efficiency was estimated. The flow over the rotors is assumed to be two-dimensional (2D), viscous, turbulent and unsteady. The CFX code is used with a solver of the coupled conservation equations of mass, momentum and energy, with an implicit time scheme and with the adoption of the hexahedral mesh and the moving mesh techniques in areas of moving surfaces. Turbulence is modeled with the k.e model. Simulations were carried out simultaneously for the rotor angle and the helical twist. The results indicate that the developed models are suitable to analyze the water flows both in the chamber and in the turbine. For the turbine, the numerical results of torque were compared for all the cases.
