Vol.0 No.41

The purpose of this study is to examine the alignments of the body joints while taking a spin-kick move with a total of 8 test subjects. The test subjects were composed of 4 registered female university Taekwondo athletes with Korean Taekwondo Association and 4 other athletes with symptoms of waist pain. Also, we would examine the effects of the motor variants of the lower limbs while taking the moves by the contraction of the waist extensor muscles in a scientific way. 1. The total elapsed time of taking the moves in A group (Normal) was 0.288±0.028 sec., while B group`s lapsed time was 0.305±0.016 sec., indicating higher speeds in A group. The differences of the elapsed times in the two groups appeared to be statistically significant. (p<0.05) 2. In the spin-kick events, A Group (Normal) and B Group (CLBPI) did not have significant differences in the angular displacements of the hip joints and knee joints. But the angular displacements of the ankle joints showed significant differences in MKA. (p<0.05) 3. In the spin-kick events of the two groups the displacement of the body center in four directions (left, right, up, down) did not show any statistically significant differences. 4. In the spin-kick events of A group (Normal) and B group (CLBPI) the angular velocity of the hip joints appeared higher with TOL and MKA when the move was taken in a stand-still position, but there was not a significance to be assured. However, the changes in the angular velocity of the knee joints did have some statistically significant difference in TOL. (p<0.01) 5. The muscular strength at the waist extensor of A group (Normal) was 149.80±57.61, while B group (CLBPI) marked 112.44±21.70, making a significant difference between the two groups. (p<.002) 6. No matter how great the muscular strength and stamina of a Taekwondo athlete might be, if there is a weakening with the errector spinae, it turned out to significantly affect the spinning and bending of the lower limbs (waist), of which an extremely fast initial bending is required. Therefore, the rehabilitation of the athletes must precede in order for the enhancement of the performance of the athletes at the matches. A further study to analyze the correlations between the speed of the kicks and the muscular strength of the waist extensor after the muscular training of the waist extensor on the athletes with waist pain symptoms is therefore required. Finally, in performing a spin-kick move, we concluded that the contraction of the waist extensor did have significant effects upon the motor scientific variants of the lower limbs. That is, in order to gain more speed in the kicking moves, the statue of the body should firmly fixed by the muscular strength of the muscles surrounding the spine, leading to more precise, and therefore, faster movements. Further studies will be made with the kicking moves, on the efficacy of the strengthening programs for the waist extensors and changes in the extensor muscles thereby, as well as the speed of the kicks.

Vol.0 No.42

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the contraction strength of the lumbar extensor upon the kinetic variables on the upper limb joints in a scientific analysis. For this study, 4 Taekwondo athletes from B Univ. with advanced skills and a certain number of black belts from Korea Univ selected as the research subjects. The result of the research is as follows: 1. The total elapsed time of the movement was 0.288±0.028 seconds in the non-athlete group, while the athletes group shows a performance of 0.275±0.016 in the elapsed time for a movement. However, the time elapsed for the segmented events of a move did not show any statistically significant differences 2. For each event of a Momtong Jireugi (or a straight body blow), the joints in elbow, hip (coxa joint), and the knee did not show any significant differences except for in the angular displacements. Especially, the displacement at the hip joints showed statistically significant differences in MKA (p<0.05). Such differences appeared to be caused by the wider bending of the coxa joint of the athlete group compared to the non-athlete group, as the take-back of the left arm and torso was made bigger in the preparatory postures. 3. While taking a Momtong Jireugi move, the displacement of the linear movement per each event was analyzed, and the result showed a significant difference. The linear velocity of the right fist at E3 point of the athlete group was 3.17±0.17m/s, which was faster than 5.11±0.19m/s of the non-athlete group. 4. The analysis on the displacement of the linear acceleration in taking a Momtong Jireugi move also revealed a statistically significant difference. The linear accelerations of the right fist`s linear velocity at E3 were, respectively, 86.43±0.17deg/s(2) for the athlete group and 92.57±15.19deg/s(2) for the non-athlete group, making the athlete group significantly faster. 5. The displacements of the angular velocity and angular acceleration per each event during a Momtong Jireugi were also analyzed with a statistically significant result. The linear velocity of the angular acceleration at the right elbow joint was measured as 126.6±26.45deg/s(2), which was a significantly faster angular acceleration than those of other joints. 6. The muscular strength in the lumbar extensor of the athlete group was 149.80±57.61, while the nonathlete group measured 112.44±21.70, showing a statistically significant difference between the two groups (p<.002). Thus, in conducting a Jireugi move, the contraction of the lumbar extensor appeared to have impacts on the kinetic variables of the upper limbs. That is, in order for the Jireugi to gain more speed and accuracy, it is be- lieved that the torso should be fixed with the muscular tensions around the spine. In the following studies, we intend to examine the effects of muscular fortification training for the lumbar extensor upon the speed of the kicks and changes in the extensor.

태권도 뒤 차기 동작의 운동학적 분석 및 분절의 기여도 분석

        이효연(Hyo Yeon Lee),이신언(Sin Uhn Lee) 한국사회체육학회 2010 한국사회체육학회지 Vol.0 No.42

This study has been executed with four taekwondo athletes from WTF and four from ITF in order to analyze the dynamic variables of the back kick and the contributions of the segmentation movements between the standards of WTF and ITF. It has focused on the 3-dimensional image analysis. The following results have been drawn from the study. 1. Overall Execution Time 1) There is no difference for the overall execution time of the back kick between the standards of WTF and ITF. 2) There is no difference for the execution time of the back kick at each section between the standards of WTF and ITF. 2. Linear Displacement of the Physical Center 1) There is no difference for the overall displacement of the physical center between the standards of WTF and ITF. 2) There is no difference for the displacement of the physical center at each section between the standards of WTF and ITF. 3. Angle Variables of the Lower Limb Joints There is a slight statistical difference for the angle variables of the knee joints for the back kick between the standards of WTF and ITF (P < 0.05). 4. Angular Speed Variables of the Lower Limb Joints There are slight statistical differences for the angular speeds of hip joints, knee joints and ankle joints between the standards of WTF and ITF. 5. Variables for Contributions After executing the T-test for the contribution of the back kick at each section for the standards of WTF and ITF, it has been found that there is no statistical difference for each physical segmentation movement between the standards of WTF and ITF. However, both groups show different trends at the section of IMP.
