Huang Laos Thought, which is based on traditional Chinese religious thought, especially the basic idea of Taoism, has meaning and history as a value of the times that greatly influenced the entire Chinese civilization. It was the early national ideology of the Han Dynasty, which formed the united culture in China, and flourished under the reign of the emperor and Laozi. The emperor was symbolized as a divine representing legal thought as the discoverer of the law, and Laozi, the founder of the Taoism, said that he copes with the world through the grudges of vanity and futility, and became embedded in the divine theory. The traditional patterns, which are in the spotlight for their symbolic meanings, have various meanings expressed in dots, lines, faces and colors according to culture and periods. Among the Wadang patterns, which are comprehensively classified into designed pattern and letter patterns, the letter Wadang symbolizes the golden age of Wadang pattern development. This study aims to expand the expression area of body painting by presenting original and creative work production and various expression techniques by mixing body painting into art categories by applying text patterns as aesthetic ideas of Wadang patterns and new ideas. Through consideration of the shape of the Wadang pattern, the formability shown in Wadang was understood, and it was produced as a body painting work based on the design of the letter pattern. By modernly designing the Wadang pattern of ideas, the body painting design was attempted with embodying the soft and curved realism of the Wadang pattern on the body. It was intended to find the infinite possibility of independent art expression and value of body painting.
