It is well known that the steering wheel is one of the most important safety parts for reducing occupant injuries at crash situations and has a significant effect on NVH performances. In the present investigation, various comparative experimental tests for<br/> evaluating performances of the steering wheel with the Mg core in terms of NVH. strength, and impact energy absorbing capabilities were performed. Also, in order to obtain the improved steering wheel design, numerical simulations for correlating with<br/> the experimental results and then predicting performances of the modified steering wheel design were carried out. Through these studies, it was construed that the developed steering wheel with the Mg core has satisfactory NVH, strength and energy absorbing<br/> performances.
