본 연구는 최근 청소년들에게 있어 심각한 문제로 대두되고 있고 사회문제화 되고 있는 인터넷 중독에 대해 알아보고 인터넷 중독과 청소년들의 우울 및 자아정체감간의 상관관계를 분석해 보았다. 또한 인터넷 비중독 집단과 중독 집단 간에 있어서의 우울과 자아정체감의 차이를 검증해 보았다. 본 연구에서는 남녀 중·고등학생 총 9개교의 600명에게 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구에 사용된 측정 도구는 인터넷 중독 검사와 우울척도, 자아정체감 검사이며 검사자료에 대한 결과는 기술통계치를 산출한 후 t-검증과 상관분석을 하였다. 본 연구의 주요한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인터넷 중독집단 청소년들이 비중독 집단 청소년들보다 우울 성향이 높은가를 살펴본 결과, 인터넷 비중독 집단에 비하여 중독집단 청소년들이 더 우울 한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 인터넷 중독집단 청소년들이 비중독 집단 청소년들보다 자아정체감이 더 낮은가를 살펴본 결과, 인터넷 비중독 집단 청소년들에 비하여 중독 집단 청소년들의 자아 정체감이 더 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 자아 정체감의 하위 구성 요소인 목표지향성, 대인역할 기대, 자기 수용에 있어서는 인터넷 비중독 집단 청소년들이 중독집단 청소년들에 비하여 유의미하게 높은 점수를 획득하였으며 독특성은 유의미하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 인터넷 중독과 청소년들의 우울 및 자아정체감은 상관관계가 있는가를 살펴본 결과. 인터넷 중독과 우울은 유의미한 정적상관, 인터넷 중독과 자아정체 감은 유의미한 부적상관을 나타냈다. 본 연구의 결과 인터넷 중독이 청소년의 우울과 자아정체감에 유의미한 상관이 있다는 결과를 토대로 인터넷 중독이 청소년 개인의 차원을 넘어서 사회적 문제로 심화되는 것을 예방하기 위해 인터넷 중독에 대한 다양한 접근과 지속적 인 연구를 통한 효과적인 대책이 필요하다고 본다 This study is intended to investigate co-relations among internet addiction, depression and ego identity of adolescents which pose serious problems to both adolescents and society these days. Furthermore, it tested the differences of depression and ego identity between internet addiction group and non-addiction group. To that end, this study surveyed 600 male and female students of nine middle and high schools. Internet Addiction Test, Beck Depression Inventory(BDI), Ego Identity Scale, were used as the evaluation means and test data were produced in the forms of Descriptive statistics with finally t-test and co-relation analysis following. The study major results are as following. Firstly, as to the depression differences between internet addiction group and non-addiction group. the formal showed a higher depression tendency than the latter. Secondly, with regard to ego identity, non-addiction group was lower than internet-addiction group. Non-addiction group scored more significant grade than internet addiction group in the sub-constituent factors of ego identity, namely, goal orientation, personal role expectation and self-acceptance but the significance was relatively low. Thirdly, regarding co-relations among internet addiction. depression and ego identity, internet addiction and depression have a positive co-relation each other but a negative co-relation was revealed between internet addiction and ego identity. To sum up, tu0Se significant results that internet addiction has positive co-relations with adolescents depression and ego identity, imply that effective initiatives are needed to prevent adolescents internet addiction from ending up social problems through various approaches and further studies on them.
