The results of experiment of methanol-toluene blended fuel to the gasoline engine are as follows. 1. Air fuel ratio of methanol-toluene blended fuel was 6∼13 and stoichiometry was 9.8. Gasoline engine which is used nowdays can be used without structural changings but with only changing carburetor. 2. Brake horse power is maximum and specific fuel consumption is minimum at stoichiometry. 3. The consumption rate of blended fuel is higher than gasoline when the same power is produced. But blended fuel is rather cheaper and economical than gasoline and for the more domestic mass production of blended full is possible. 4. The optimum condition of this engine was near stoichiometry, the optimum ignition advance angle was near SA 35。and maximum power was near ??=1400rpm. It is thought to be that this blended fuel could be used conveniently to the other engine at the same condition as this experiment. It is desirable to develop and addition to broaden air fuel ratio and raise fuel calorific value for the purpose of increasing power and efficiency.
