레벨 4 자율주행자동차의 제작 안전 가이드라인에 대한 고찰

Since automated driving system (ADS) has great potential to innovate various fields of automobile and mobility industries, major countries are establishing safety standards for autonomous vehicles to support technology development. However, in order to prevent technology development from being hampered by the safety standards for technologies still under development, safety guidelines are applied until the technologies are mature. For example, the safety 'guideline' for level 4 ADS was published in December 2020 by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea, while the safety 'standards' for level 3 ADS was promulgated in December 2019. In this study, the domestic safety guideline for level 4 ADS is analyzed with the guidelines of major advanced countries in terms of safety elements. As it takes a lot of time before the safety standards of level 4 ADS is introduced, it is expected that the safety guideline will be updated several times. As necessary considerations when updating the safety guideline, industry acceptance, harmonization between safety elements, validation methods of system performance, and the user options are discussed.
유럽과 한국의 이륜차 엔진 성능 시험 규정에 대한 비교 연구

As a preliminary research to provide amendment for the engine performance test regulation of two-wheeled vehicles, the engine performance data are investigated in terms of maximum torque, rated power, and engine speed of motorcycles on sales in Korean market. Based on the engine performance database officially published to consumers, some forecasted problems are discussed when the maximum torque and the rated power are measured under the present test standards. EU and Korea regulations on engine performance test are carefully compared in terms of the accuracy of measurement devices, test procedures including data acquisition method, and allowable range of rated power measurement. Complementary items are discussed to eliminate ambiguities in the present regulation and to construct rational regulation system.
이륜자동차의 주행저항 결정 기법이 WMTC 연비 측정에 미치는 영향

There are some ambiguities of the information on the fuel economy provided to the consumers because the standard and the detailed regulations for the fuel economy of the two-wheeled vehicle have not been established in Korea. Since Korea has been a signatory of World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations since 1998, it is possible to remove the ambiguities by adopting the WMTC (Worldwide-harmonized Motorcycle Test Cycle) measurement method for the fuel economy of the two-wheel vehicle. As a preliminary study on the WMTC mode fuel economy, road loads measured by coast down method and table method were compared for the two types of two-wheeled motorcycles on sales in domestic market. In the same model, it was confirmed that the deviation of WMTC mode fuel efficiency was below -5% between products. On the other hand, the difference of WMTC fuel economy exceeded 5% between the coast down method and table method.

The PIV system and its image analysis software are developed to measure an instantaneous velocity. field. An artificial image is generated and tested to give a proper autocorrelation im-age. 라그랑지안 조건평균방법을 이용한 난류비예혼합 연소의 LES 해석

Lagrangian conditional moment closure(CMC) is applied to large eddy simulation(LES) to analyze turbulent piloted nonpremixed flame(Sandia flame D). It is assumed that the sequentially injected fuel groups share the conditional flame statistics. Coupling between turbulence and chemistry is considered in modeling of the conditional scalar dissipation rate(SDR) which is composed of resolved and subgrid scale modeled terms. Since no additional grid system is required for Lagrangian CMC, LES study is possible without large computation burden. The LES-Lagrangian CMC predicts the major scalar variables(temperature, mixture fraction, and mass fractions of CO, OH, H₂) consistent with measurements both in physical and mixture fraction spaces.
포항철강산업단지 내부 폐열 회수를 위한 에너지 교환망 구축 방안 분석

포항철강산업단지에서 발생하는 폐열을 회수하기 위하여 주요 기업의 폐에너지 발생 규모에 대한 데이터베이스를 설문조사를 통해 구축하고, 가시적인 기법을 적용하여 에너지 교환망 구축방안을 고려하였다. 폐열의 온도 수준, 유효에너지 발생량, 폐에너지 발생 기업과 예상 수요 기업의 거리, 구축비용 등의 관점에서 잠재성이 높은 에너지 교환망을 제시하고 경제성을 평가하였다. 최종 제안된 4개 기업의 에너지 교환망의 투자비 회수기간은 평균 2.8년이고, 에너지 절감량은 연간 4,778 TOE로 분석되었다. 현재 사용되는 LNG를 폐열 회수로 대체하면 연간 약 11,160 CO₂ ton을 감축할 수 있다. A detailed database of waste heat is built to propose energy exchange networks to recover waste energy in Pohang Steel Industrial Complex. A visualized technique is used to figure out the status of waste heat energy and to suggest potential energy exchange networks. Several energy networks are proposed in terms of temperature level, the amount of available energy, distance, and construction cost. A simple economical assessment is applied to the energy exchange networks which have higher economic potential. Their average payback period is estimated to be 2.8 years. The total amount of energy saving by constructing the proposed energy exchange networks is 4,778 TOE per year. It corresponds to 11,160 ton CO₂ reduction with the assumption that the recycled waste energy replaces the use of LNG in energy-demanding companies.

Numerical analysis is applied to model Pt-catalyzed reaction in a micro-scale combustor fueled by butane. The reaction constants of catalytic oxidation are determined from plug flow model with the experimental data. Orders of magnitude between the chemical reaction rate and the mass transfer rate are carefully compared to reveal which mechanism plays a dominant role in the total fuel conversion rate. For various conditions of fuel flow rate and surface temperature, the profiles of Sherwood numbers are investigated to study the characteristics of the mass transport phenomena in the micro-tube combustor.

The heat generation rate predicted by the CFD is in good agreement with the experimental date. Orders of magnitude between the chemical reaction rate and the mass transfer rate are carefully compared to reveal which mechanism plays a dominant role in the total fuel conversion rate. For various conditions of fuel flow rate and surface temperature, the profiles of Sherwood number are investigated to study the characteristics of concentration boundary layer in detail.

The relationship between mass transfer and reaction within the washcoat is investigated in a monolith type micro-scale Pt-catalytic combustor. Nondimensionalized balance equation of butane is applied in a simplified washcoat geometry having the shape of slab. Both Thiele modulus and effectiveness factor are considered to compare reaction rate and diffusion rate according to the operation temperature and the diameter of alumina nano-pores. The effect of reaction becomes stronger as the temperature increases, while the effect of diffusion becomes relatively dominant as the diameter of nano-pores increases. From the analysis of butane distribution within the washcoat, design criterion for the thickness of washcoat is discussed.

Design criterion for the size of micro Pt-catalytic combustor is investigated in terms of heat release rate. One-dimensional plug flow model is applied to determine the surface reaction constants using the experimental data at stoichiometric butane-air mixture. With these reaction constants, the mass fraction of butane and heat release rate predicted by the plug flow model are in good agreement with the experimental data at the combustor exit. The relationship between the size of micro catalytic combustor and mixture flowrate is introduced in the form of product of two terms-the effect of fuel conversion efficiency, and the effect of chemical reaction rate and mass transfer rate.
