The effect of relations parameters on the declination gradient of trees was studied in natural forest of Quercus variabilis, Quercus × grosseserrata, Quercus aliens, and Quercus dentata grown at various slope gradient. The declination gradients of trees were effected by the species, slope gradient, and direction of slope, but not effected by density and height in all species. The species shows a superior factor effecting declination gradient of trees compared with other relations parameters, and next effective factor was slope gradient. Especially in all of slope gradient, the declination gradient of Quercus × grossesserrata was highest.

This study was conducted to provide fundamental information to make rational management planning in eastern seacoast forest, mainly composed of black pine (Pinus Thunbergii), Kangweon Province. Diameter distribution was estimated by the method of Weibull distribution. The results were as fallows ; 1. Average diameter in the eastern seacoast forests of Kangweon Province was 10.3㎝, and the average D. B. H, of 16 study sites ranged from 6.9 to 14.6㎝. 2. Parameters of the Weibull distribution mere estimated in each study sites and the estimated parameters of the all study forests were a=5, b=5.6997 and c=1.4079. 3. Tested by Kolmogorov-Smirnov method for the significant differences between actual and estimated diameter distribution, the result showed that estimated values were well fitted to the actual ones at 5% significance level.

This study was carried out to estimate the Korean Pine stand structure such as coefficient of variation of mean DBH, number of trees and volume per ha by Weibull distribution for each age class from I to V , based on photo measurement and timber cursing in Kangwon National University Experimental Forests. The results were summarized as follows: 1) Coefficient of variation of mean DBH for each age class from I to V , which was obtained by converting DBH estimated from crown diameter by photo measurement into quadratic mean DBH, was estimated as 28.88%, 24.13% , 23.29%, 20.27%, and 18.79%, respectively. 2) Number of trees per ha of each age class by Weibull distribution was obtained as 2875, 2100, 1875, 800, and 325, respectively. 3) Volume per ha of each age class was estimated as 22.9㎥, 66.8㎥, 101.3㎥, 209.6㎥, and 266.8㎥, respectively. 4) Therefore, aerial photographs will be helpful to estimate the stand structure effectively.

This study was conducted to investigate and interpret the stand structure of Korean Red pine (Pinus densiflora) stands in Kangwon province, so as to provide basics information for effective forest management. The results obtained in this study were as follows : 1. Number of trees distribution for each diameter class have left nonsymrnetrical in Gosung districts, but symmetrical distribution in Pyungchang districts. 2. Height curve for D.B.H. Distribution becames liner shape in Pyungchang districts that more higher than Gosung districts. 3. Stand volume and number of trees per ha in Pyungchang districts are higher than Gosung districts. 4. D.B.H. growth increments during recent 5 years at large D.B.H. class has much lager than low D.B.H. class. 5. Total growth increments of D.B.H., height and volume in Pyungchang districts are or the higher than Gosung districts overtimes 15 years later.
Weibull 분포를 응용한 임학연구 (Ⅱ) - Gamma 함수에 의한 parameter 의 추정 -

In the estimation of diameter distribution in a stand using Weibull distribution function, the calculation method of experimental distribution was presented in previous paper. This study was to estimate the diameter distribution of Korean pine stands by Weibull distribution which represents Gamma function, with mean diameter and mean basal-area diameter of the random sample trees. The results obtained fitted the diameter distribution in experimental stands. Thus, this method appears to be used for the estimation of diameter distribution in a stand as well as for the analysis and prediction of stand construction for the future.

Current volume tables might underestimate or overestimate the volumes of individual trees in a specific region because the tables were made using the data from broad region. This study provides a statistical method of local correction, which is the ratio-of-means estimator, when the table is applied to the data from a specific region. Data used in this study were 411 trees of Larix leptolepis from Hongchon region. Five statistical models for individual tree volume equation were evaluated based on 3 evalation criteria and the best equation fitted to the data from Hongchon region was selected. The volume estimated by the selected equation was then compared with the volume estimated by the current volume table. From the ratio-of-means estimate based on the volumes estimated by selected equation and by current volume table, the local correction was made. The correction equation was V_(Hongchon)=1.078 V_(volume table). It is also proved that the correction equation can simply and precisely estimate tree volumes of Larix leptolepis in Hongchon region using the current volume table.

Based on stem analysis as well as branch analysis data of each tree from 8 plots of circle clear-cutting and 1 biomass plot in Changbai Mountain area, located in Northeast of China, the effective crown form of Changbai larch(Larix olgensis H. ) plantation were studied by using the approach of crown curve. The results indicated that the cross-section forms of effective crown were stable and showed approximate circle for different tree size. Because the effective crown was on upper position of the canopy and its form reflects crown architecture under non-competition condition, the architecture is mainly affected by species hereditary feature. Therefore, for the specified species the effective crown form was thought to be relatively stable. The effective crown form of tree was neither related to the tree size within stand nor to the stand condition for different stand. The total effective crown curve of larch plantation could be characterized by using mean effective crown taper.
