The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 12 weeks` gymstick training on body composition and visfatin in obese university women. Gradual, independent and specific exercises for university women were developed. All 19 subjects were obese women, who were divided into exercise group (n=9) and control group (n=10). The gymstic training was composed of RPE(Rating of perceived exertion) 11-12 for 1-2 weeks, RPE 13-14 for 3-7 weeks, RPE 15-16 for 8-12 weeks, 60 minutes 3 times per week. The data were analyzed by ANCOVA(analysis of covarance) of SAS program. In exercise group, body fat composition, abdominal fat and visfatin were significantly decreased and lean body mass was significantly increased. However, there was no significant difference in weight and body mass index. In this study, the gymstick program was effective in improving obesity management.

This study was to present exercise-prescription models, complying with the principles while considering the reality for the senior in the community when conducting collective exercise prescription. The subjects were 112 over 65 years of age or older. Prescriptive screening and measurement evaluation items were minimized to do the field application, considering the senior`s individual difference. 12 weeks exercise program classified as aerobic, anaerobic, and complex group was undertaken. As a result, body composition, senior fitness test and blood component were improved positively. Proposed exercise prescription model by this study for the community to target large elderly population during a workout regimen should operate at least separated three exercise programs (aerobic, anaerobic, complex exercise).
