본 연구는 안정된 애착을 형성하지 못해 또래 관계 및 사회적응의 어려움을 겪고 있는 만 3세 8 개월의 여아를 대상으로 8개월간(총 31회기) 놀이치료를 실시하였다. 첫째, Benedict(2001)의 미취학아동의 놀이주제(preschool children's common play themes) 분석체계에 따라 놀이주제 특성을 분석한 결과, 전체 회기에서 가장 많이 표현된 놀이는 ‘퇴행’, ‘애착’, ‘가족’, ‘안전’의 주제로 나타났다. 둘째, 애착 Q-set을 통해 어머니가 지각한 애착 변화와 놀이주제 변화를 살펴보면, 초기 단계에는 ‘항상성’과 ‘보호’라는 놀이주제를 통해 내적인 불안정감과 대상에 대한 신뢰를 회복하면서 어머니와의 원활한 상호작용이 향상되었다. 중기 Ⅰ단계에는 ‘방임, 학대, 자기 처벌’, ‘자기 양육’, ‘격렬한 신체 놀이’ 주제를 보이면서 어머니와의 신체적 접촉이 늘어났다. 중기 Ⅱ 단계에는 ‘방임, 학대, 자기 처벌’, ‘양육’, ‘하기와 안하기’의 놀이주제를 보이면서 다른 성인과의 상호작용이 증가하였다. 말기단계에는 ‘양육’, ‘경계 짓기’, ‘수선’의 주제를 보이면서 어머니에 대한 근접성이 상당히 높아졌으며 전반적인 애착의 향상을 보여주고 있다. 본 연구는 애착 문제를 지닌 유아의 놀이주제 양상을 구체적으로 살펴보고, 놀이주제의 변화와 부모가 지각하는 애착의 변화를 함께 살펴봤다는 점에 의의가 있다. This play therapy research involved a 3-year-old girl with peer relationship and social adjustment problems due to attachment issues. Using the Benedict (2001)’s ‘Preschool Children’s Common Play Themes’ system, ‘regression’, ‘attachment’, ‘family’ and ‘safety’ were seen revealed as prominent issues. Additionally, mother-child interaction initially improved through restoring internal stability and trust through ‘constancy’ and ‘protection’. In middle-stage I, as the mother’s physical contacts increased, the child showed themes of ‘neglect, abuse, self-punishment’, ‘self-nurturing’, and ‘roughhousing’. In middle-stage II, interactions with other adults increased, predominant themes which emerged were ‘neglect, abuse, self-punishment’, ‘nurturing’ and ‘doing-undoing’. In the end-stage, she showed increased proximity and attachment to her mother with ‘nurturing’, ‘boundary-setting’ and ‘fixing’ themes. This study dealt with the play themes of preschoolers’ related to attachment issues, changes, and perceived attachment by parents.
