        The purpose of this study was to investigate nutrition knowledge about weight control, dietary behavior, and dietary intake depending on obesity degree of women. The survey was carried out from Nov 22 to 29, in 2007 among 123 women. Mean age of the subjects was 32.8 years old. Married women were 69.9%, and full-time housewives were 64.3%. About 56% of the subjects answered they did not do any regular exercise on a weekly basis. When obesity degree was assessed by BMI, 65.2% of the subjects were normal weight, 14.5% were overweight, and 20.3% were obese. Mean nutrition knowledge score about weight control was 9.1 out of 12, and mean dietary behavior score was 8.2 out of 12. Mean daily energy intake was 1871.0 ㎉. There were no significant differences of energy and nutrient intakes, energy ratio from carbohydrate, protein and fat, and snack intake among the three groups. The main food source of energy was cooked rice in all the three groups, but the main food source of fat was different among the groups such as snack in normal weight group, and pork belly in overweight and obese group. The proportions of energy intake were high in dinner and snack in obese group compared to the other two groups. Our results suggest that women need regular exercise, and nutrition education should be implemented depending on the obesity degree.
