일반대학원 상담 전공 프로그램에 대한 석사과정 학생의 인식
본 연구는 일반대학원 상담 전공 프로그램에 대해 혼합연구방법을 사용하여 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 일반대학원 상담 전공 석사생 101명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문지는 일반적 사항, 석사 과정을 통해 이루고자 했던 것, 연구와 실무에 대한 인식, 연구 활동 경험, 상담 실무 경험, 졸업 후 진로와 석사과정에 대한 평가로 구성하였고, 기술통계를 사용하여 결과를 분석하였다. 설문조사를 통해 수집한 결과를 바탕으로 상담 실무 수련 경험이 있는 석사생 6명을 대상으로 면담을 실시하였다. 연구결과를 종합하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 일반대학원 상담 전공 석사생은 주로 상담 실무자를 목표로 대학원에 진학하였다. 실무자가 되기 위한 자격 요건 이수 과정으로서의 상담 수련을 기대하기 때문에 연구보다 상담 실무 활동을 중요하게 인식하고, 비중을 두었다. 둘째, 상담실습에 대한 기대와 실제 만족에 차이가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이에 대한 원인은 상담 실습 교과목 개설의 부족과 상담 자격 요건을 이수하기 위해 발생하는 시간 및 경제적 어려움으로 추측되었다. 셋째, 일반대학원 상담 전공 석사생은 석사 과정에서 상담 실무 활동을 가장 유용하게 평가하였고, 실무 활동을 통해 알게 되는 것이 많은 것으로 나타났다. 석사생들은 상담 수련을 통해 스스로를 이해하고 내담자를 조력하면서 성취감을 느꼈다. 또한, 이러한 과정에서 내담자를 이해하기 위해 연구 결과물을 활용하며 연구의 필요성을 경험하였다. 본 연구는 교육과정 내에 자격 이수과정이 포함되어야 할 필요성을 제시 하였다는 데에서 의의가 있다. 또한, 혼합연구방법을 통해 일반대학원 상담 전공 프로그램에 대해 조사하여 현상에 대한 구체적인 해석을 가능하게 하였다. 마지막으로 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 연구의 제한점과 후속 연구의 방향에 대해 제언하였다. This study explored the general graduate school counseling program using a mixed methods. To this end, a survey was conducted on 101 master's students majoring in counseling at general graduate schools. The questionnaire consisted of general matters, what they wanted to achieve through the master's program, perception of research and practice, research activity experience, counseling practice experience, and evaluation of the post-graduation career and master's program, and the results were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Based on the results collected through the survey, an interview was conducted with 6 master's students who had experience in counseling practice. The study results are summarized as follows. First, master's students majoring in counseling at general graduate schools went on to graduate school with the goal of becoming counseling practitioners. Because counseling training is expected as a process of completing the qualifications required to become a practitioner, it was recognized that counseling practice was more important than research and gave weight to it. Second, it was found that there was a big difference between the expectations for counseling practice and the actual satisfaction. The reason for this was presumed to be the lack of open counseling practice courses and the time and economic difficulties that occurred to complete the counseling qualification requirements. Third, it was found that the master's students majoring in counseling at general graduate schools rated counseling practical activities the most useful in the master's program, and learned a lot through practical activities. Master's students felt a sense of accomplishment as they understood themselves and helped clients through counseling training. In addition, in this process, the research results were used to understand the client and the necessity of research was experienced. This study is meaningful in that it suggests the need to include the qualification completion process in the curriculum. In addition, a detailed interpretation of the phenomenon was made possible by investigating the general graduate school counseling major program through a mixed methods. Finally, based on these results, limitations of the study and directions for follow-up studies were suggested.
