The rotary kiln is one of the most widely used industrial reactors for contacting gases and solids. Kilns are mainly used for calcining, incinerating and reducing solid materials. This paper deal with the design analysis for scale up of rotary kiln. In order to design analysis, we carry out a geometry analysis(bed motion in rotary kiln, residence time and volumetric flow rate), heat & mass balance and modeling of heat transfer. We calculate temperature distribution in a rotary kiln using one-dimension thermal model. This model can be used to predict the temperature profile of the solid bed of the kiln along the length of the kiln axis.
탄종에 따른 파일럿 규모 순환유동상 보일러의 운전 조건 분석

It is common in power plant using designed coal. Sometimes, Power plant is used non-designed coal. A boiler, planned for a specific designed coal, is required to operate on other non-design fuels or under off-design conditions. The temperature of flue gas in furnace depends on different sort of coals. In this paper, The operation condition considered according to variety of coals on the temperature of flue gas. In order to calculate the temperature of flue gas, we have to calculate consumption of coal by using the boiler efficiency, mass balance and heat balance in furnace. The temperature of flue gas is adjusted through the pre-heat air and excess air. Low-grade coal can operate power plant to get the intended temperature of flue gas by raising temperature injection air or turning down excess air.

The gas-solid reactor, such as rotary kiln, sintering bed, incinerator and CFB boiler, is the one of most widely used industrial reactors for contacting gases and solids. the gassolid reactor are mainly used for drying, calcining and reducing solid materials. In the gas-solid reactor, heat is supplied to the outside of the wall or inside of the reactor. The heat transfer in gas-solid reactor encompasses all the modes of transport mechanisms, that is, conduction, convection and radiation. The chemical reactions occurring in the bed are driven by energy supplied by the heat transfer. This paper deal with the effect of heat transfer and chemical reaction in the gas-solid reactor.
산업용 로 내 고체 미립자의 거동 예측을 위한 유동-고체입자 간 비산에 관한 실험과 해석

In the industrial furnaces or reactors, entrainment of the material particles is one of the important issues from the point of view of efficient material-use. The particles of solid phase which has submicron unit are easily entrained with gas phase as a reacting agent or product, and it causes a loss of the material. In this study, wind-tunnel experiment is carried out to interpret the distribution of the particles entrained along the tunnel length. Through CFD-based computational analysis of the experiment, availability of result from the CFD analysis associated with particle size distribution and gaseous velocity to practical system is evaluated.
