인터페이스 디자인에서의 시지각 원리의 활용 - 착시 현상을 중심으로 -

20세기 후반에 강조되기 시작한 인터페이스 디자인 분야에서는 시지각 원리를 활용하는 디자인들이 많이 나타나고 있으며, 인간의 다양한 시지각 특성에 대한 폭넓은 접근이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 인간의 다양한 시지각 특성을 나타내는 시각 현상들을 알아보고, 이들에 대한 인터페이스 디자이너들의 활용 현황 및 인식, 그리고 디자인 작업에의 적용가능성을 밝히고자 하였다. 연구결과 착시현상과 관련된 시지각적 특성에 대해 인터페이스 디자이너들의 활용경험은 그다지 높지 않은 것으로 나타났으나, 활용했던 사례에 대해서는 그 유용성을 높게 인지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 인터페이스 디자인에 적절하게 활용할 수 있는 착시현상과 디자인에서의 이들의 활용방안을 제시하였는데, 이를 통해 시지각 원리의 활용 방향에 대한 인터페이스 디자인 분야에서의 연구 기반을 삼고자 하였다. The importance of interface design has been emphasized since the end of 20th century and the principles of visual perception have applied to many interface design works. The purposes of this study are to understand the optical illusions which might represent the principles of visual perception, and to investigate designers` use experiences of them and their applicabilities to the future design works. The result of the study shows that designers have not highly used the optical illusions in their works. However, it is clear that designers highly agree that the illusions and understanding of them are useful in the cases they have used them in their works. This study also provides designers with some optical illusions and their practical application techniques for the future interface design. In addition, such results might be the bases of the future research regarding the principles of visual perception in the design research field.
