The purpose of this study is to select items for the development of matured aging measurement for Korean elderly in terms of the model structures and amounts of item information. We defined matured aging as developing oneself in physically and mentally, having good relationship with family members, and realizing social responsibility with generativity. To assess this matured aging concept, we examined matured aging measurement items with 719 Korean elderly over 60-years-old. First, explanatory factor analysis identified number of dimensions of matured aging. Second, confirmatory factor analysis suggested two factor model for the having good relationship with family members: having good relationship with spouse and children and three factor model for the realizing social responsibility with generativity: matured aging attitude, reasonable life oriented, and generativity fitted moderately with Korean elderly. Next, item response theory analyses revealed that 14 items provide good information for having good relationship with spouse and 13 items do for having good relationship with children. In addition, 11 items provide good information for the matured aging attitudes, 7 items do for the reasonable life oriented, and 5 items do for the generativity. Finally, we confirmed that matured aging model with individual, relational, and societal levels had an acceptable model fit. This study suggests that items for the development of matured aging measurement are fitted well with the matured aging model structured by Korean cultural background and this model is different with the successful aging model developed in western culture.
취업모의 양가감정과 출산의지에 관한 연구: 다중역할 효능감의 매개효과 중심으로

This study examined the relationship between ambivalence of Korean working mothers for children and their future desire for child birth. This study examined multiple-role efficacy as a mediator in the relationship between ambivalence for their children and future desire for child birth by Korean working mothers having more than one pre-school aged child. This study examined the mediation effect of multiple-role efficacy on the relationship between ambivalence and desire for child birth by working mothers. On-line and off-line survey data from 291 Korean working mothers with more than one pre-school aged child was used for this study. Collected data were analyzed using the PASW 18.0 program and descriptive statistics analyses. Structural equation modeling and bootstrapping were conducted by AMOS 20.0 program. Results showed that ambivalence for children of working mothers having pre-school aged children had no direct influence on future child birth desire. However, their ambivalence had an indirect influence on future child birth desire through multiple-role efficacy and multiple-role efficacy by working mothers had significant effect on child birth desire. In conclusion, the working mothers’ multiple-role efficacy had a mediation influence on the relationship between ambivalence for children and desire of child birth. These results were discussed for designing a policy to counter low birth.

본 연구는 18세 이상의 자녀를 둔 1,882명의 부모들을 대상으로 전생애과정의 부모자녀관계와 성인기의 발달, 그리고 중노년기 심리적 복지감 간의 관계를 이해하기 위해 심리사회 발달적 관점과 생애과정 발달적 관점을 적용하여 연구를 진행하였다. 구체적으로 회상된 성인기 이전 부모자녀관계가 성인기 부모자녀관계와 생산감 발달에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보고, 이러한 성인기 전후의 경험들이 중노년기 심리적 복지감에 어떠한 역할을 하는지를 밝히는데 목적을 두었다. 연구결과는 성인기 이전에 부모로부터 호의적인 양육을 받았다고 회상할수록 성인기에 더 긍정적인 부모자녀관계를 갖고, 생산감도 더 많이 발달되며, 중노년기의 심리적 복지감도 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 성인기 부모자녀관계가 긍정적일수록 생산감이 많이 발달하였고 심리적 복지감도 높았다. 마지막으로, 생산감이 높을수록 심리적 복지감도 증진하는 것으로 나타났다. 성인기 이전에 부모로부터 받았다고 회상하는 양육방식이 중년기 이후 심리적 복지감에 미치는 영향은 성인기 부모자녀관계와 생산감 발달에 의해 부분적으로 매개되었다. 따라서 성인기 이전의 부모로부터 호의적인 양육을 받지 못했어도 성인기에 긍정적인 부모자녀관계를 형성하거나 높은 생산감을 발전시킨 경우는 높은 심리적 복지감을 형성한다는 것이다. 이러한 연구결과들은 성인기 이전 경험들이 지속적으로 성인기 심리적 복지감에 영향을 주며 그 영향력이 현재의 가족관계에 영향을 미치지만, 이는 성인기 경험들에 의해 변할 수도 있다는 사실을 시사한다. This study examined the relationship between parent-child relationship experiences in childhood and adulthood, and individual development and psychological well-being in mid to later life using structural equation modeling with data from 1,882 parents who have at least one child over 18 years old. Findings indicated that receiving more affectionate parenting in childhood was associated with greater generativity development, more positive parental experiences with one's own children, and better psychological well-being in mid to later adulthood. In addition, the effects of received parenting in childhood on psychological well-being after midlife were partially mediated by parental experiences with adult children and generativity development. These findings suggest that early experiences with parents in childhood continuously influence psychological well-being in adulthood through their impact on concurrent family experiences. However, early influences can be redirected through adult experiences too. These findings have implications for the development of intervention programs aimed at promoting volunteer work for older adults, as well as for practitioners who work with families and individuals who are having problems.
중노년기 성인들의 컴퓨터 게임이용과 심리사회적 발달 관계에 대한 연구

본 연구는 중노년기 성인들의 컴퓨터 게임이용 현황과 심리사회적 발달간의 관계를 살펴보기 위해, 부산 경남 지역에 사는 50세 이상의 중노년기 성인들을 대상으로 컴퓨터 게임이 이용과 자기존중감, 생성감, 심리적 복지감, 자녀관계, 그리고 손자녀관계를 중심으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 주요연구결과를 보면, 첫째, 컴퓨터 게임을 이용하는 중노년기 성인들은 다양한 게임의 매력을 느끼고 게임이용이 삶의 다양한 영역에 도움이 된다고 응답하여 게임이용에 대해 긍정적 태도를 보였다. 둘째, 컴퓨터 게임을 이용하는 성인들은 이용하지 않는 성인들에 비해 더 높은 자기존중감을 보였다. 마지막으로, 컴퓨터 게임이용에 대해 긍정적으로 인식할수록 자녀관계와 손자녀관계가 좋고, 생성감도 높으며, 심리적 복지감이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과는 여가활용의 일환으로 컴퓨터 게임에 관한 교육프로그램 개발 시 시사점을 제공하는 측면에서 논의되었다. To examine the relationship between computer game use and psychosocial development in mid-to later adulthood, this study included 486 adults over 50 years old with computer game use, self-esteem, generativity, psychological well-being, relationship with children and grandchildren. Results showed that the adults in mid to later adulthood using computer game reported diverse attractive characteristics of computer game and game helped their daily life in diverse dimensions. Second, the adults using computer game reported higher self-esteem than the one not using it. Finally, the adults who perceived the computer game more positive reported better relationships with children and grandchildren, higher generativity, and higher psychological well-being. Based on the research results, developing of adult education program using computer game as a way of recreation was discussed.
