This paper is about broadband electromagnetic emission test of domestic vehicles. Disturbances from sources employing Ignition system, Wiper motor, Power antenna, Heater blower motor, Air conditioning compressor, Alternator, Engine cooling or Power seat etc. cause broadband emissions. These devices are used in diesel vehicle as well as gasoline vehicle and broadband noise of diesel vehicles can"t be greatly different from broadband noise of gasoline vehicles. But broadband electromagnetic emission test of diesel vehicle is eliminated from domestic vehicle safety standards. For this reason, diesel vehicle have broadband emission test in Europe electromagnetic regulations at present. Also, the latest International Standards CISPR 25 Edition 3.0 (Radio disturbance characteristics for the protection of receivers used on board vehicles limits and methods of measurement) narrowband/broadband determination article which shall be made to determine whether measured emissions are narrowband or broadband in the test plan was deleted. The results presented in this study indicate that broadband emission test of diesel and Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are necessary to the vehicle safety standards.

In these days, advanced vehicles such as hybrid electric vehicle, electric vehicle and hydrogen fuel cell vehicle are being developed and researched so rapidly and international standards is being constantly updated. Domestic vehicle safety standards of eletro-magnetic compatibility is recently updated and we feel the need to check if advanced vehicle in being developed is conformed or not with updated standards. For this reason, we have tested about conformance of electro-magnetic compatibility safety standards for Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles as representative of advanced vehicles. Broadband emission tests, narrowband emission tests and immunity tests of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles were carried out under real vehicle test in the EMC chamber. The results presented in this study indicate that Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in recently developed are conformed with updated vehicle safety standards.

The purpose of this study is to conduct various crash tests of small passenger cars and measure the deformation, occupant injuries and body decelerations of vehicles. A relationship between impact speed and vehicle damage data such as deformation, body decelerations and etc are analyzed. The characteristics of domestic cars in crash tests are obtained and will be used for developing a precise accident reconstruction program by using a data which is recording at Automatic Accident Recording System(AARS). In this study, the test results of the full frontal barrier crash and side impact are reviewed and examined. The results show that the damages and the decelerations of various cars are increased on the increment of the impact speed and vehicle weight.

To evaluate the rear seat occupant safety, two frontal barrier tests were conducted according to the test procedures of the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). The NCAP test method is identical but more severe condition than the vehicle safety regulation of the Ministry of Construction and Transportation (MOCT). In each test, the injury data of head, chest and femur for driver, front and rear passenger dummies were measured and analyzed. The head and chest injury of rear seat passenger dummies are lower than those of the driver and front passenger dummies. The femur load of the rear seat dummies is higher than those of the front seat dummies. The results show that the rear seat passengers are safer than the driver and front passenger. The submarining phenomenon is occurred in the rear seat
passenger dummies. The lower legs of the rear seat dummies pushed the front seat back. The submarining effect of the rear seat passenger dummies may result in the behavior of the driver and front seat dummies. Also, this effect may result in the increase of the injuries of the driver and front passenger.
This paper is about electromagnetic compatibility test of neighborhood electric vehicle and electric vehicle, when they are in charging mode connected to the power grid. Disturbances from sources employing on-board system in electric vehicle cause emissions and immunity. Electromagnetic regulations in UN/ECE WP.29 is under working about vehicles providing coupling systems for charging the RESS regarding the control of emissions and immunity from this connection between vehicle and power grid. However there is no any accurate domestic EMC regulation for charging mode. So this research shows test methods and some results related electric vehicle"s charging mode.

A hydrogen fuel cell vehicle was emerging as an alternative transportation means for the future automotive industry. New safety regulations should be ensured for hydrogen fuel cell vehicle due to different characteristics vehicles in power plant and fuel type. In the world forum for harmonization of the vehicle Regulations(UN/ECE WP.29) the development of the global technical regulations for hydrogen fuelcell vehicles is actively being discussed. UN/ECE WP 29 aims to develope global technical regulations in the field of environment, crashworthiness and electrical safety in the first phase till 2010. This paper explores research issues related to the electrical safety of high voltage system for Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

The reconstruction of crash accidents is important to examine the cause of traffic accidents. For this purpose, the data for the delta v and deceleration of the vehicle, a driver's status and the environment of road and facility is a prerequisite. The characteristics of domestic cars in crash tests are obtained and will be used for the purpose of the crash accident reconstruction. Also, the characteristics are used for the method development estimating the impact speed through investigating the damage of cars. In this study, the test results of the full frontal barrier crash, the 40% offset crash, the center pole frontal crash and the 30 degree oblique frontal crash are reviewed and examined. The results show that the damages and the decelerations of various cars are increased in proportion to the increment of the impact speed.

According to revolutionary developments in automobile technologies, a variety of advanced vehicles - hybrid vehicle, hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle, electric vehicle, etc. - emerges recently. The safety is getting more important for developing automobiles. The electro-magnetic compatibility has to be assured since those advanced vehicles are equipped with various new electronic systems. Electro-magnetic compatibility tests, in general, consist of EMI (electro-magnetic interference) test and EMS (electro-magnetic susceptibility) test. We investigate the EMS or the immunity test method suggested in KMVSS (Korean Motor Vehicle Safety Standard), and propose more effective test methods.
