Finite element formulations for geometrical nonlinear analysis of pretensioned membrane and cable reinforced<br/> membrane structures with a Triangular Constants Strain element are presented. The total lagrangian formulation<br/> (T.L.F.) is introduced in the nonlinear incremental iterative procedure. Based on these theoretical formulations, a<br/> FE nonlinear analysis program is developed. In order to show the validity of the presented formulation and<br/> program, initial shape finding analysis and stress-deformation analysis for membrane and cable reinforced<br/> membrane structures are carried out. The results are in good agreement with the results available in the existing<br/> literature.
