The main purpose of this study is to present the future direction of the Taehwagang National Garden by conducting a landscape evaluation on the gardens of the Taehwagang National Garden to identify the landscape evaluation structure and present improvements to the results. The landscape evaluation scale was extracted by comparing the preferences of the target gardens using the property Grid Development Method and expressing the results as adjectives. The landscape evaluation structure of each garden of the Taehwagang National Garden was identified by conducting a survey. As a result, three factors were extracted that could evaluate the Taehwagang National Garden, and as a result of arranging the target garden in the space of each factor, overseas artist garden and citizen student garden were relatively highly evaluated, but seasonally, flowerless chrysanthemums or peony gardens were low. In addition, the evaluation results and improvement directions for each garden could be presented. This paper is meaningful in evaluating the national garden in terms of landscape and presenting specific directions for improvement based on the results, and it can be said that this improvement can contribute to the spread of garden culture and the establishment of garden culture. 본 연구는 태화강 국가정원의 정원들을 대상으로 경관평가를 실시하여 경관평가구조를 파악하고, 그 결과에 대한 개선사항을 제시함으로써 태화강 국가정원의 향후 조성방향성을 제시하는 것이 주목적이다. Repertory Grid Development Method를 사용하여 대상지 정원들의 선호도를 비교하고, 그 결과를 형용사로 표현함으로써 경관평가척도를 추출하였으며, 추출된 경관평가척도를 활용하여 설문조사를 통한 요인분석을 실시하여 태화강 국가정원의 각 정원에 대한 경관평가구조를 파악하였다. 그 결과, 태화강 국가정원을 평가할 수 있는 3개의 요인이 추출되었으며, 각 요인의 공간상에 대상지 정원을 배치해본 결과, 해외작가정원, 시민학생정원은 비교적 높은 평가를 받았지만, 계절적으로 꽃이 없는 국화원이나 작약원의 경우에는 낮은 평가를 받고 있는 것이 파악되었다. 또한, 각 정원들에 대한 평가결과 및 개선방향성에 대해 제시할 수 있었다. 본 논문은 국가정원을 경관이라는 측면에서 평가하고, 그 결과를 바탕으로 개선방향을 구체적으로 제시하였다는 데 의의가 있다고 판단되며, 이러한 개선을 통해 정원문화의 확산과 정원문화의 정착에 기여할 수 있다고 할 수 있다.
