본 논문의 목적은 스포츠 경제학 분야에서 활발히 진행되고 있는 전력 평준화와 결과의 불확실성의 관련된 연구와 스포츠 수요의 연구에 관한 현황을 알아보고 국내 연구 주제들에 대한 실태 파악을 주목적으로 한다. 1954년 Simon Rottenberg의 논문에서 시작되었다고 볼 수 있는 스포츠 경제학은 이후 경제학과 스포츠 경영 분야에서 많은 연구자를 배출하였고 다양한 스포츠와 국가에서 다양한 주제로 연구가 진행되고 있다. 국내에서도 스포츠 경제학과 관련된 연구들이 활발히 진행되고 있으며, 이를 바탕으로 이 분야의 향후 방향에 대해 제언하고자 한다. This paper aims to review the history of research in competitive balance, outcome uncertainty, and demand for sport within sports economics and also to see the trend of domestic research line. Sports economics, which is commonly believed to emerge since seminal work of Simon Rottenberg in 1954, have produced many scholars and various research activities are in progress within various sports and nations. There are also active stream of research in Korea and I provide future direction of the field. in last section.

본 연구는 K-리그 시즌 티켓 팬을 대상으로 경기 결과의 불확실성, 경기의 질, 관람의 질 등의 관람결정요인을 분석하는 것을 주목적으로 한다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 2019년 K-리그 정규시즌 경기에 직접적으로 경기장을 방문한 시즌 티켓 팬의 수를 이용하여 총 165경기의 데이터를 활용하였고, 팀 고정 효과를 포함한 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, K-리그 시즌 티켓 팬은 경기 결과의 불확실성과 높은 선수 연봉의 총합에 정적 영향을 받았다. 그러나 관람의 질과 관련된 경기장의 연차는 시즌 티켓 팬에게 유의미한 관람결정요인이 아니었다. 그 외에 주말 경기에서 시즌 티켓 팬의 방문이 증가하는 것을 발견하였으며, 홈 팀과 원정 팀의 물리적 거리가 증가할수록 시즌 티켓 팬의 방문이 감소하는 것을 발견하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 통하여 K-리그 시즌 티켓 팬에 대한 심층 높은 이해에 기여하고자 하며 후속 수요연구에서 팬의 세분화의 전략적 중요성을 강조한다. The current paper aims to investigate determinants of sport demand including outcome uncertainty, game quality, and viewing quality of K-league season ticket holders. For the purpose, this paper utilizes total of 165 season ticket attendance data of 2019 K-league regular season games and multiple regression analysis with team fixed effects. As a result, it was revealed that season ticket holders of K-league showed preference for games with higher outcome uncertainty and games with higher total wage of both home and away team. Nevertheless, viewing quality measured via stadium age was not a significant determinant. Beside our mainly interested variables, weekend games drew additional season ticket holders to the stadium while increase in physical distance between home and away team reduced season ticket holders’ visitation. The implication of our paper seeks to contribute for better understanding of K-leauge season ticket holders and emphasize the importance of fan segmentation in demand estimaton for future studies.
