This paper presents feasibility of a pressure reducing valve for emergency breathing system. The reducing valve consists of a valve body, a diaphragm, a diaphragm pin, springs, and a relief valve with a poppet for emergency gas discharge. The diaphragm and diaphragm pin are important equipment for the cracking pressure adjustment and control flow rate and leakage flow. In this paper, the reducing valve was designed to three-dimensional shape, and FEM based static structure analysis for pressure endurance limit was conducted. The analysis of the structure was achieved by using Ansys static structure software module. Finally, It was confirmed that the designed valve is useful to the emergency breathing system.
