        보문: 두피관리에 사용할 수 있는 효과적인 천연 화장품소재의 탐색

        Scalp care and scaling are used for prevention of hair damage and alopecia. In this study, efficacy of 5 natural materials (shiitake mushroom, buckwheat, soybean, cypress, and seaweed fulvescens) was investigated for using of scalp care. Natural materials analyzed general ingredient, and ethanol extracts of natural materials were proven cell viability and closed patch test. Antioxidative effect (scavenging activity of DPPH and SO) and antibacterial activity were measured, and usability of prepared toner with natural materials ethanol extract was questioned. As a result, shiitake mushroom had 14.00%, buckwheat with 5.52%, soybean with 41.51%, and cypress with 24.27% of crude protein, and seaweed fulvescens had 33.67% of crude ash in the general ingredient analysis. In safety evaluation, 50% of cell viability from 5 natural materials ethanol extract was shown in 91~152 μL/mL, and blister (-), redness (-), allergic reaction (-) were not observed after 24 hours closed patch test. When scavenging activity of DPPH and SO was compared with the positive control substance BHT 0.1 mg/mL, shiitake mushroom was 25 μL/mL and 50 μL/mL, buckwheat was 50 μL/mL and 25 μL/mL, soybean was 25~50 μL/mL and 50 μL/mL, cypress was ≤25 μL/mL and ≥50 μL/mL, seaweed fulvescens was 25 μL/mL and 50 μL/mL. Good antioxidative activities from shiitake mushroom and buckwheat extracts were observed. Cypress extracts showed good antimicrobial activities against S. aureus and S. epidermidis with concentration of 150 μL/mL. For the usability evaluation, there were positive responses with ``good`` and ``average`` on 5 questions. In conclusion, it was suggested that shiitake mushroom, buckwheat, soybean, cypress, and seaweed fulvescens can be used as cosmetics materials for scalp scaling with its high safety, usability, and efficiency.

        보문 : 자초의 천연색을 이용한 립밤에 관한 연구

        Lip balm is now one of useful cosmetics and the phenomena of well-being and LOHAS have extended to the area of cosmetics of which quality is assured. In this study, usability of Lithospermum erthrohizon (L. erthrohizon) investigated to natural cosmetic materials. Ethyl alcohol extract from L. erthrohizon was observed cytotoxicity, DPPH scavenging effect and antimicrobial activity. And lip balm made of 10% L. erthrohizon extract from ethyl alcohol and jojoba oil extract, and tested safety, usability and stability. In the result, fifty percent of fibroblast viability and brain cells were shown at the concentration of 128 mg/mL and 106 mg/mL of ethyl alcohol extracts. No extraordinary reaction or phenomena were detected like erythema (-) or allergy (-) when fore arms were patched for 48 hours with 10% lip balm made of ethyl alcohol and oil extracts. With regard to stability, there was little change in color but generation of alien substances and acidification from UV irradiation to 10% lip balm. Extremely positive responses were directed to lip balm in the order of color, feeling after application, applicability, fragrance and color reaction. DPPH scavenging activity was observed at the concentration of 5.0 mg/mL of ethyl alcohol extracts in comparison with the concentration 0.1 mg/mL of BHT as positive control material. Fractions of ethyl acetate and butanol from L. erthrohizon were measured at 12.5 mg/mL same scavenging effect as BHT. And antimicrobial activities revealed formation of clear zone with size of 9.5 mm against to S. aureus and 10 mm clear zone against to S. epidermidis at the concentration of 100 mg/mL. In conclusion, L. erthrohizon turned out to have excellent effects and antimicrobial activities as natural substance. And the lip balm made of L. erthrohizon is expected to suffice the 4 major requirements of cosmetics (safety, stability, effectiveness and usability), it is thought to be usefully employed in developing the products with natural substances that are verified of antioxidant effect and antimicrobial activity in the industry of cosmetics.

        20대 여성의 중성두피에 샴푸세정시 유,수분과 각질량의 변화

        Today people`s interest on scalp and hair care is growing, and everyone use shampoo for hair washing. But the most of them do not know right shampooing time. In this study, basic data on the contents of sebum·moisture and keratin after shampooing were investigated on normal scalp. The level of sebum·moisture and keratin at frontal, left and right temporal regions, and occipital region in 5 volunteers in 20`s age were measured respectively before shampooing, and 30 minutes, 2, 4, 6, 10, 12, 16, 20, 24 hours after shampooing, and also observed the condition of scalp with gross observation and light microscope. As a result, it was found that the contents of sebum before shampooing, it decreased significantly (p<0.05) from 30 minutes to 20 hours after shampooing, and the contents of sebum became similar after 24 hours. The moisture amount of moisture before shampooing, it increased from 30 minutes to 4 hours after shampooing, while decreased in some parts significantly (p<0.05) until 20 hours after shampooing, and the contents of moisture became similar after 24 hours after shampooing. Regarding the contents of keratin before shampooing, it increased from 30 minutes to 4 hours after shampooing, while decreased in some parts significantly (p<0.05) until 20 hours after shampooing, and the contents of keratin became similar after 24 hours. Unaided-eye observation on scalp before shampooing found that sebum was abundant throughout the entire scalp regions, and stuffy pores and expansion of capillary vessel due to lipid peroxide formed by sweat, sebum, and dusts was observed. Considering the observation of the contents of sebum·moisture and keratin on normal appropriate interval between shampooing is found to be about 24 hours, and the finding can be valuable basic data that people can apply in hair·scalp cleansing and care.
