본 연구는 의학교육에서 필수적인 의료인문학 교육과정에서, 국악을 적용하여 의료인문학 수업을 설계하고 이에 대한 학생 인식을 연구목적으로 하였다. 의과대학 학생 40명을 대상으로 국악을 적용한 의료인문학 수업을 설계하고 적용한 후 학생의 설문과 성찰 포트폴리오를 통해 학생의 인식을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 학생은 수업 전보다 후가 국악에 대한 인식과 흥미, 학습하고 싶은 정도, 의사로서의 삶에 도움이 되는 정도가 긍정적으로 변화한 것으로 분석되었다. 마찬가지로 성찰 포트폴리오에서도 국악에 대한 아름다움과 흥미, 학습기회 확대 등을 보고하였다. 이를 통해 국악이 의료인문학 수업에 적용과 정의적 영역 평가 가능성을 확인할 수 있었고 나아가 다양한 예술이 우리나라 의학교육에 적용되기를 기대한다. The purpose of this study is to design a medical humanities instruction by applying Korean traditional music in the medical humanities curriculum essential in medical education, and to study the students’ perception of it. After designing and applying a medical humanities instruction that applied Korean traditional music to 40 medical school students, students’ perceptions were analyzed through the student’s questionnaire and reflection portfolio. As a result, it was analyzed that students’ perception and interest in Korean traditional music, the degree of desire to learn, and the degree of usefulness in life as a doctor changed positively after class than before. Similarly, in the reflection portfolio, the beauty, interest, and expansion of learning opportunities for Korean traditional music were also reported. Through this, it was possible to confirm the possibility of applying traditional music to medical humanities instruction and evaluating the affective domain, and it is expected that various arts will be applied to medical education in Korea.

예술을 적용한 의료인문 수업이 공감과 의사소통능력에 미치는 효과

본 연구는 의과대학 교육과정의 의료인문 수업에서 예술교육이 의과대학생들의 공감과 의사소통능력에 미치는 효과 검토를 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 대구지역의 K의과대학 의학과 3학년을 대상으로 의료인문학 교육과정의 정규 교과목에 미술, 음악, 연극, 영상, 문화 등의 내용을 정규 적용하여, 의과대학 학생의 공감과 의사소통능력에 미치는 효과를 연구하였다. 연구결과 예술을 적용한 의료인문 수업이 의과대학 학생들의 공감은 향상되지 않았지만, 하위구인인 관점수용능력이 향상되었으며, 의사소통능력은 향상되었다. 최근 의료와 의학교육에서 강조되는 의료인문학의 중요성과 다양하고 빠르게 변화하는 현대사회에서 요구하는 좋은 의사, 행복한 의사 양성을 위하여 예술영역의 내용을 포함한 다양한 분야의 교육이 의과대학에서 이루어져야 할 것이다. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of art education on empathy and communication ability of medical students in medical humanities instruction in the medical school curriculum. For this purpose, the effect on empathy and communication ability of medical students by applying art, music, drama, video, and culture to regular subjects of the medical humanities curriculum for 3rd graders of K medical school in Daegu area studied. As a result of the study, the medical humanities class that applied art did not improve the empathy ability of medical students, but improved the perspective-taking ability, which is the lower construct, and the communication ability. In order to cultivate good doctors and happy doctors required by the importance of medical humanities, which is recently emphasized in medicine and medical education, and the diverse and rapidly changing modern society, education in various fields including the contents of the arts should be provided in medical schools.
