        박영윤(Park, Young-Yoon),이현주(Lee, Hyun-ju),안옥희(An, OkHee) 한국주거학회 2020 한국주거학회 논문집 Vol.31 No.2

This study identified the general points of tributary activity and the service currently being provided to 30 people who directly meet and support the residents of Jokbang, and the connection and necessity with Jokbang on a 5-point scale. The items of relevance and necessity to the residents of the province consisted of 85 total sections presented in five areas: income (11), housing (14), care (19), health (23), and education (18). The results are as follows. Income-area welfare services were more likely to have a higher need (four) than two associations (two) in relation to the prevention agency. Residential areas also had eight more needs than associations (7), and health areas had three higher needs than associations (2). In the Daegu Citizens’ Welfare Standards, welfare services tailored to the characteristics and needs of the residents of the small rooms were shown in the “income, residential and health areas” and the need to link welfare services to meet the needs of the small residents was found. However, due to low relevance and necessity items in the field of care and education, the target of welfare service and the contents of support were not directly applicable to the residents of the neighborhood.

        박영윤(Park, Young-Yoon),김태경(Kim, Tae-Gyeong),고가로(Gao, Jialu),안옥희(An, Ok-Hee) 한국주거학회 2018 한국주거학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.30 No.2

There seems no clear definition or regulation about the Jjokbang(slice rooms), which is mentioned associated with terms such as homeless welfare, basic livelihood security, fire safety management, and crime victim. Researches on Jjokbang, which have become active after 2000 in Korea, are limited in the contents of living condition and health generally targeting the group of single residents in Jjokbang. This study examined the life condition of jjokbang residents according to categories of welfare standards. 30 jjokbang residents in Daegu were interviewed face to face. After analyses of precedent studies on jjokbang and surveys by Daegu Jjokbang Counseling Office, the study composed items of the interview according to 5 criteria(income, housing, care, health, education) of 「Daegu Citizen Welfare Standards」. This study is a qualitative research, which examines not only previous and current life conditions of jjokbang residents but also levels of satisfaction and necessity for welfare services. It could be used as a primary data for the policy making related to jjokbang.

        박영윤(Park, Young-Yoon),안옥희(An, Ok-Hee) 한국주거학회 2019 한국주거학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.31 No.1

This study aims to identify in depth the characteristics of community activities according to changes in residential environment through the history of residential life of residents in the Jokbang area. The research method was applied as a qualitative research method because it is an open research method that can reveal the complexity of the research target, and the various perspectives of the research subjects and opinions and interpretations of the researchers are important. The subjects of the study are six residents of Dong-gu, Jung-gu, and Buk-gu in Daegu City. They collected data through two to three in-depth interview and recorded the interview. The details of the survey focused on changes in the residential environment, such as moving, large modifications, and deep impression experience of residents in the Jubang area, and on family matters, residential environment, residential mobility and improvement behavior, memories of housing and community activities. We also looked at the current day and day by week, month and season by hour, and explained in detail one year after coming to the room to find out why we came to the room. Finally, assessment and requirements for current state life and community activities were identified. Unlike the qualitative study of the previous prior study on the daily life of the Jokbang residents, this paper is meaningful in looking at the residents" living environment changes and community characteristics with the neighbors, focusing on the residential environment.

        박영윤(Park, Young-Yoon),김인성(Kim, In-Sung) 대한건축학회 2021 대한건축학회 학술발표대회 논문집 Vol.41 No.2

In order to derive a pattern of ‘behavior-space’ through a plan analysis of Jjokbang residences, we seek to find the centrality of ‘behavior-space’ and to derive repeated patterns due to the relationship between the basic elements that formulating the boundary. For plan analysis, six on-site visits and photographs were taken through experts at the Daegu Jjokbang Counseling Center twice. The objects in the photograph, including walls, floors, doors, windows, and furniture, are all quantified and represented on plan drawings. The central space had a common backside with a view of the back of the space, which contained blankets and bedding. And two easy-to-mobility household goods, six-bedroom appliances, formed a boundary close to the central space, and a fixed object or furniture of seven storage units of one home appliance is bounded by the outer part of the wall.

        박영윤(Park, Young-Yoon),김인성(Kim, In-Sung) 한국주거학회 2017 한국주거학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.29 No.1

Permanent rental apartment complexes have been built in Korea for the residential stability of the socially vulnerable such as single elderly people and people with disabilities. There have been social isolation concerns being raised due to the voluntary or involuntary separation between the complexes and their neighboring areas. We could find many earlier studies concerning social distribution/integration issues or general issues of physical environment improvement for the apartment complexes. However, we focused on the border areas around the fences of complexes which had been hardly dealt with before. We selected four permanent rental apartment complexes in Deagu, considering their neighboring situations. The relationships between the types of fences, border areas, and various physical/social characteristics of their neighboring areas were analyzed to find differences of residents’ reactions and interactions, as well as their views and movements in relation to the types of fences. Simplified drawings and field photos of the border areas were analysed elaborately to figure out current situations of active/abandoned places and suggest alternative possibilities. This study would be utilized for the related policy and design strategy for the fences and border areas of permanent rental apartment complexes.

This study examined selected 17 Korean academic papers devoted to the subject of Jjokbang(slice rooms) by analyzing date of issue, research subjects, contents, methods, and region. The result showed that the researches on jjokbang started in earnest since 2000, and got the most active in recent three years(2015~2017). In terms of research subjects, the biggest parts were about living style of jjokbang residents; conditions of poverty culture(1), housing conditions(1), living conditions(5). The mostly used research methods were questionnaire survey, participatory observation, and depth interview which generally covered the issues about health and living conditions. The target regions of research were vary, but the more cases could be found at the area with more jjokbang; Seoul(8), Daejeon(4), Daegu(2), Busan(1), and others(3). The study suggests with these result that further researches need to cover not just metropolises but also local small cities, and target not just the group of single residents in Jjokbang but also families there.
