Using FE-simulation, examine their relation. To find the optimum conditions for improving deep drawing, a series of the experiments are preformed. From the results of this propose die shoulder shape and optimum measure. And the optimum values of process variables are examined and discussed.

In this paper, an aluminum ring forging process of manufacturing an optimizes perform for a hot forging process is simulated using AFDEX 3D, a general-purpose metal forming simulator based on rigid-thermoviscoplastic finite element method. Non-isothermal analysis is carried out and the predictions are compared with the experiments in terms of dimensional accuracy. It was shown that the predictions are in good agreement with the experiments.

In this paper, a sequence of compound metal forming processes composed of four roll forging processes, a bending process and two conventional closed die forging processes developed for manufacturing a lower arm with highest yield of material is simulated. The detailed process design is introduced with emphasis on the roll forging processes for manufacturing an optimized preform. The predictions are compared with the experiments and it is shown that they are in close agreement.

The forging of magnesium is restricted to a few industries that aerospace parts. As increasing interests in the environment and enforcing strong regulations on exhaust gases and carbon dioxide in developed countries, efforts into developments in magnesium forging techniques have been making more briskly with transportation machine maker as the center. In particular, growing demands for a fuel-efficient vehicle, various efforts into lightweight of parts are putting forth. In this work, high strength commercial AZ80 and ZK60 Magnesium Alloys were forged in order to observe the changes in characteristics to the process. Changing variable forging temperature and forging speed of magnesium feedstock, magnesium control arms for chassis component were manufactured. Carrying out different heat treatments (T4 and T6), the changes in characteristics were investigated.

In this paper, a useful two-dimensional finite element approach is applied to structural analysis of dies in hot lateral forging of long parts. Three-dimensional forging simulation and die structural analysis are conducted for an aluminum hot forging process of the front lower control arm of an automobile and their results are criticized in terms of application for improving designs of process or die. Two dimensional approach for engineering design is proposed especially for prediction of stress concentration with higher accuracy when the material is long compared to its diameter and it is applied to the process to solve the local problem. It is shown that the predictions of two dimensional approach is very close to those of three-dimensional approach if the velocity Component normal to the plane selected for two dimensional analysis is negligible.
