In this research, We estimates & quantifies the optimum (minimized error in real) attenuation of filter for conducted and radiated noise from ECU in Vehicle by using simulation technique that takes an active load impedance variation (not passive load impedance variation without power input) as a basic variable. And while filter simulation modeling, it was used that numeric processing method with complex matrix. The result of simulation with the analogical filter variables, can forecast the attenuation of EMI noise (measured after inserting filters in a real board). After all, it is possible that the selection of the optimum filters for EMI reduction.

IPAS(Intelligent Parking Assist System) uses ultra sonic sensors to detect target objects during the parking scenarios. The ultra sonic sensor model is very important for IPAS simulation. But the sensor model can be very complicated because of diffused reflection effects of ultra sonic sensor. So it may be difficult to use in real time simulation applications, especially HILS. Even though there are some HILS sensor models, but usually those models are not accurate enough for IPAS simulation. This study suggests the ultra sonic sensor model for IPAS HILS application using real sensor scanning data. This sensor model uses real sensor scanning database and emulates it considering the speed effect of vehicle, distance effect between sensors & objects, and rotation effect of target objects. The developed sensor model simulation results are compared with real car results, which validate the effectiveness of the sensor model for IPAS applications.

LKAS(Lane Keeping Assist System) detects front lane border by camera sensor which is specifically designed for line detection. LKAS system detects when a vehicle is about to depart from the existing lane, intimates the driver using acoustic and visual warning methodology and then calculates the reverse steering torque, as required to maintain the existing lane position, which is then applied by EPS(Electric Power Steering) without any driver intervention. This study suggests a Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulator, which can validate LKAS system. Simulator is based on real-time simulation methodology. Lane information from a real-time vehicle dynamics model is converted to 3 dimensional line formula in order for the LKAS MCU to receive decent line information through RS-232 protocol. A monitor display is prepared that makes LKAS take a vehicle model animation in real time, to validate lens, COMS & image processor. The developed simulator results are compared with real car results, which validate the usefulness of the simulator for LKAS development.

EDS(Emergency Driving Support) system is important factor for active safety system of intelligent vehicle. For this reason, vehicle manufactures and system are actively developing EDS system. In this paper, a driving simulator with a 6-DOF motion platform is developed and we propose the verification process of EDS system using a driving simulator. And focus on testing method of EDS system. To evaluate performance of EDS system, we propose EDS system TDP(Test Development Procedure) using specification-based test approach and static test respectively.

ADAS(Advanced Driver Assist System) are systems to help the driver and each system has specific software made by developer. Unfortunately, a developer can make an error or mistake, which causes a failure in system. So software testing is very important process and needed for drivers safety. In this study, we focus on sensor fusion system(LKAS and SCC) and propose the software test environment of sensor fusion algorithm using a driving simulator. The HILS(Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation) test environment has been established and evaluated its performance.

In these days, vehicle manufacturers and system suppliers are well advanced in their driver assistance system products. Especially, in the development process, the reliability test is essential for the guarantee of driver’s safety and convenience. Many ADAS suppliers should do their best to handle a lot of test cases in their test development process. However, it is difficult to make the same test condition and environment in the real driving test. The driving simulator can be used for the alternative and cost-effective test method. In this study, a driving simulator with a 6-DOF motion platform is developed and we propose the verification process of LDWS(Lane Departure Warning System) using a driving simulator. It is expected that the new test method can be used for other ADAS system test such as LCA(Lane Change Assist System), CAS(Collision Avoidance System), and EDS(Emergency Driving Support).

EPS is power steering system, which uses motor actuator to assist the Steering torque. EPS has many benefits such as fuel efficient, simple component structure, easy to assemble and control flexibility over HPS (Hydraulic Power Steering). So, there is a tendency to substitute HPS with EPS system in many vehicles in terms of advancement and other factors by which EPS is better than HPS. In spite of many benefits of EPS, there is a disadvantage of undesired action from the EPS system, which can be very harmful to a driver because it can cause no assistance or unsteer able of steering wheel. So, during the designing and development of EPS system, it is needed to take some important parameters into consideration like robustness and reliability. To retain robust and reliable EPS system, various conditions have to be tested, not only from functionality point of view but from the safety point of view also. System fault is a very important factor to consider the safety. In order to deliver a reliable and safe EPS system, many fault scenarios should be prepared and tested by both software algorithms and hardware components. Those faults can be physical and electronic faults. This study develops an EPS HIL simulator which can perform fault injection test based on test automation environment.

This paper focuses on parameter studies for reducing operating noise of a motor-on-caliper EPB(Electronic Parking Brake) system. Recently, as an application of EPB system, especially a motor-on-caliper type, in the vehicles has been broadened, drivers’ complaint about operating noise of EPB has been larger. In this paper, 5 main branches influencing on operating noise, sound and vibration source, transfer system, natural frequency, damping and vehicle characteristics, were introduced to reduce operating noise of MoC EPB.
