정진규 시의 공간성에 대한 논의 : 『모르는 귀』를 중심으로

본 연구는 정진규의 시세계와 그의 마지막 시집 『모르는 귀』에 나타난 시적공간을 해석하여, 공간이 정진규의 시세계가 변화하는 데 있어서 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지를 살펴보고, 정진규 시인의 내면의식을 고찰하는 데 목적을 두었다. 시의 본질 가운데 공간이 차지하는 의미에 주목하여 정진규 시에 나타난 공간을 분석하는 것은 정진규의 시 창작 의식과 시세계를 이해하는 데 필요하다고 판단하였다. 정진규의 시에 등장하는 자연과 생태는 그의 창작 주체이자 시적 영감을 불어넣는 소재로 작용한 것이었으며, 정진규는 인간과 자연, 사물과 존재의 공존과 공생을 노래하고자 하였다. 즉 정진규는 자연물을 통해 인간인 자신의 감정을 이입시키고, 존재와 사물 사이에 존재하는 틈에 주목하여 그 틈을 전일성의 공간이자 인간과 자연이 공존할 수 있는 공간으로 묘사한 시들을 다수 발표하였다. 이는 시인이 탈속의 세계, 즉 인간과 자연의 교감과 조화를 통한 일상성의 세계를 지향하고 있음을 보여주는 것이다. 이전까지 시인이 노래했던 전일성의 공간은 사물과 존재가 공존하는 공간이었다면, 『모르는 귀』에서 전일성의 공간은 새로 길을 낼 수 있는 깨달음의 공간으로 다가온다. 그래서 정진규의 시세계는 시인의 치열한 성찰과 사유를 바탕으로 하는 전일성의 공간에 대한 발견과 깨달음의 시학으로 볼 수 있는 것이다. 지금까지 정진규 시의 시세계나 그의 산문시 창작 방법론에 대한 연구는 비교적 활발하게 진행되어 왔으나, 그의 시세계가 지향하는 문학적 공간인 전일성의 공간이 가진 의미에 대한 연구는 매우 부족한 실정이었다. 이에 본 연구는 정진규 시의 공간 연구에 대한 접근을 시도했다는 데 의미가 있다. This study aims to interpret the poetic world of Jung Jin Gyu and the poetic space indicated in his last poem an unknown ear to determine how this poetic space has affected his changing poetic world and examine his inner consciousness. I believe that analyzing the space indicated in his poem by paying attention to the meaning of space among the essence of his poetry is an effective method for understanding his poetic creative consciousness and his poetic world. The nature and ecology of Jung Jin Gyu’s poetry acted as the subject of his creation and poetic coexistence and as a symbiosis of human and nature and things and beings. Namely, he revealed his feelings as a human being through nature and published many poems describing the gap between beings and things as the space of characteristics and space where humans and nature coexist. This indicates that he aims for a world of deviance, frequent communication, and harmony between human beings and nature. The space of characteristics that he expressed before is the space where things and beings coexist. However, the space of characteristics indicated in an unknown ear comes across as a place of enlightenment, where someone can acquire new knowledge. Thus, his poetic world can be seen as a discovery about the place of characteristics, based on hisintense reflection and reason and his poetry of realization. To date, research into Jung Jin Gyu’s poetry world and the creation methodology of his prose poems has been relatively active; however, research into the meaning of the place of characteristics aimed for in his poetic world is insufficient. Therefore, this study is meaningful in that it attempted to research the spatiality of the poet Jung Jin Gyu.

1916년에 태어나 1976년에 작고한 정운(丁芸) 이영도(李永道)는 한국의 대표 여류시인으로서 시조에 다양한 접근을 모색하였다. 1946년부터 작품 활동을 시작한 이영도는 기존 시조 형식의 운율에 변화를 주어 색다른 결과를 시도했다는 점에서 현대 시조의 새 지평을 만든 인물로 전해진다. 그 결과 이영도를 중심으로 연구가 활발해졌으며, 연구 자료들이 문학사 면에서 시조의 발전에 일조했다는 평가를 받고 있다. 그러나 이영도 작품에 담긴 가치 중 서정성에 대한 논의는 아직 부족한 상태다. 서정성은 세상을 바라보는 일괄되고 보편적인 관념을 버리고, 보다 내밀한 관계를 형성하는 과정에서 만들어진다. 서정성의 가치는 문학에 순기능으로 작용해 독자들로 하여금 정서적 안정과 평안을 유도하는 힘을 가지고 있어, 이영도의 서정성 연구는 21세기 문학을 발전시키는데 깊이를 더하는 과정이라 할 수 있다. 이런 이유에서 출발한 본 연구는, 이영도의 시조선집 『아지랑이』를 통해 주요 작품들이 지니고 있는 고유한 서정성에 대하여 살펴보았다. 직접 드러내지 않고도 객체와의 관계를 외부로 표출하는, 즉 서정성이 내밀하게 진행되는 과정과 그 특징에 대하여 고찰하였다. 그 결과 확인할 수 있었던 것은 이영도의 서정성에는 ‘주객합일’과 ‘무시간성’의 특징이 있다는 것이다. 이를 통해 자연과 인간이라는 서로 다른 개체가 어느 지점에서 합일을 이루는지, 동일화 과정에서 발생한 정서적 가치가 작품을 해석하는데 얼마나 유용한지를 알 수 있다. 현재 자신의 존재를 증명하는 본질적인 공간과 자신과 대비되는 작품 속의 객체는 이질적인 대상임에 분명하다. 그러나 그 대상이 흐르는 시간에 속하면서도 소멸되지 않고 시인 자신에게 근접해 있음을 인식함으로써 ‘무시간성’의 자각이 가능하다. 이러한 특징을 근거로 이영도 시조는 서정문학의 중요한 작품으로 연구될 충분한 가치가 있다고 할 수 있다. Lee, Young-Do, born in 1916 and died in 1976, sought various approaches to the sijo as a leading female poet in Korea. Lee, Young-do, who began his work in 1946, is said to have created a new horizon for the modern sijo, given that he attempted a different result by changing the rhythm of the existing sijo style. Therefore, research has become active around Lee, Young-Do Island, and research materials have been evaluated to have contributed to the development of the sijo in terms of literary history. However, there is still a lack of discussion on lyricism among the values contained in Lee’s work. Lyricity is created in the process of creating a more intimate relationship, abandoning the collective and universal notion of the world. The value of lyricism has the power to induce emotional stability and peace for readers by acting as a net function in literature, so Lee, Young-do’s study of lyricism is a process that adds depth to the development of 21st-century literature. This study, which started for this reason, examined the unique lyricism of major works through Lee, Young-do’s collection of poetry, “haze” We considered the process of expressing the relationship with objects externally without revealing it directly, and the process of lyricism being conducted intimately and its characteristics. As a result, what we could see was that Lee, Young-do’s lyricism has the characteristics of “viewpoint clarity” and “free time.” This shows at what point the different objects of nature and human beings unite, and how useful the emotional value generated during the identification process is to interpret the work. It is clear that the intrinsic space that currently proves one’s existence and the objects in the work that contrast themselves are heterogeneous objects. However, recognizing that the object belongs to the time it flows, but is not extinct, and is close to the poet himself/herself, allowing him/her to perceive “free time” Based on these characteristics, Lee, Young-Do Sijo is valuable enough to be studied as an important work of lyrical literature.
