        교육시설의 발달 동향에 관한 연구

        This study presents the trend of development of elementary schools and secondary schools in Korea from 1975 to 2005 based on the indicators such as the numbers of schools, students and classes, area of sites, and building areas per a school, a class and a student. The aim of this study provides the critical and fundamental data for a policy decision to develop domestic school facilities. Some of factors are analysed by the comparison of the cases of Japan in same period. As a result, though there have been some improvements such as the numbers of students per a school and a class and building area per a student for the period, it is hard to find out concrete direction for consistent qualitative level for the school facilities and schools of large classes have been increased as a consequence. In future, it could be very crucial to propose and implement short term and long term policies after appropriate levels of factors are made in the educational aspect and also facility aspect.

        초등학교 여유교실 사용 실태에 대한 연구 -부산 지역의 초등학교의 사례를 대상으로-

        The purpose of this study is to understand the changes in using the space at the elementary schools and to predict the trend of space efficiency at the school by various researches ; the downward trend of school-aged children from 2000 to 2030, and the actual conditions of the unused classrooms on the elementary schools in Busan and Japan From the research, we realized that the number of unused classrooms will be increasing rapidly by the decreasing of school-aged children. Although there are many kinds of name on the unused classrooms, we find out that current situation is very negative to use these classrooms without practical reasons or reform them by educational purposes. This study suggests that there should be an actual vision and support to develop these unused spaces at the school for improving the quality in education and diversion of function to the facilities of the community or welfare in the region.         초등학교 교실공간에 관한 사적 고찰

        This thesis examines the shape, organization, background, and significance of the classroom space in highly appraised elementary schools since the inauguration of public education in modern times in the fields of education or architecture. This thesis acknowledges that classroom shapes comprise an auditorium-like space for a large-scale study group, a square-shaped classroom designed for simultaneous teaching for single class, and bent and L-shaped classrooms for various learning activities. Whereas the square-shaped classroom for simultaneous teaching which has lasted until now evolved around 1870, the post-1930s era witnessed the emergence of a composition in which classroom and outside space are associated, of an atypical classroom, and of Functional Unit where common space and classrooms are assembled. It is deemed that the emergence of the atypical classroom comes from the reinterpretation of learning and space pursuant to progressive pedagogical philosophy and child development theories and functional architecture theories. Thus, this thesis verifies that school construction and learning space can be newly created and the synthesis between education, child development studies, and architecture is a prerequisite to such a creation.

        존 듀이의 교육철학에 따른 학교와 공간구성 개념 고찰

        This study considers the concept of schools and their spatial composition by John Dewey through literature review who argued for a new, children-centered education in the early 19th century, and it also mentions some suggestions for improvement of the elementary school facilities in Korea that the size and number of students in school has decreased sharply. John Dewey claimed that a school is a big household as well as a small society in which one studies the current occupation and experience in connection between the household-school-society. At the same time, he pursued an organic and open spatial composition which can effectively and efficiently enable educational curriculum's application, social occupation and project learning based on children's native impulse and stage in child growth. Korea's education policy should shift from quantity-based education production to quality-based production due to the reduction of school age population among other reasons. Especially this study emphasizes that small size schools need to be changed to local community facilities with environment-friendly, children-centered and open learning spatial composition with basis on John Dewey's educational philosophy.

      • 지역주민의 초등학교시설 이용의식 및 현황에 관한 연구

        By decomposing the User's Behaviors and requisition of the Use for Elementary School Facilities and Local Facilities, the purpose of that is to suggest a basic guidance on the architectural planning corresponding to the requirement of the local residence in Life-long Education. The results of the study can be summarized were as follow; 1) In a case of a nation, Life-long Education show a tendency to a network around Education Facilities 2) In the case of using of Elementary School Facilities and Local Facilities, 'the program of Life-long Education' and 'near distance to there' is analysis its very principle viewpoint in the Facility-Use of the local residence 3) The local types caused by making difference a kind of facilities and program in the Use of Elementary School Facilities and Local Facilities, the use-consciousness and condition of Mixed-Use tendency Facilities. 4) The Mixed-Use tendency of Elementary School Facilities in the viewpoint of the Life-long Education is the facility planing of considering localization : the local types, the kind of local facilities, character of local residence etc.
