The fuel spray behavior in the intake port of an electronic control port irijection gasoline engine has a strong influence on engine performance, exhaust emission and fuel consumption. Thus, in this study, fuel spray behavior and flow characteristics of the air assist gasoline spray injected into a suction flow in a simulated rectangular intake port have boon investigated. Macro-behavior of spray characteristics was investigated by means of visualization and the measurements of SMD and velocity were made by PDPA. For analysis the flow field with droplets size, droplets are classified five droplets size groups. As a result, the normal distance of suction flow increasing, the relatively large droplets distribution and SMD increase because small droplets easily follow suction flow. Near impinging wail, after impinging against the wall, secondary atomized small droplets of D < $30{\mu}m$ bound from the wall. And the increasement of suction flow progress to the large droplets of D > $100{\mu}m$ distribution. Therefore, SMD are apparently increased near impinging wall, Z/d = 9.0.

The effects of a seam blade on the performance of an axial flow fan, which is widely used in ventilation, were investigated experimentally. The seams were setup onto the pressure surface of the blade. The four blades with edge seam, double stem seam, edge & double stem seam, and seamless were manufactured for the test, and their effects on the flowrate were evaluated. The stem seam onto the blade was designed according to the formula of quadratic curve. Axial velocity distribution and flowrate were measured using a pitot tube, and they were compared at the same condition. In addition, the fan noise and consuming power were compared with commercial products and newly designed blades. The blade with the double stem seam showed highest flowrate among them.
밸브 디스크 차단비 변화가 버터플라이밸브의 손실계수에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구

The loss coefficient of the butterfly valve which allows partial opening of the valve at closed position and is applicable to the small-sized pipe system with the diameter of 1 inch was measured for the variation of the valve disk blockage ratio. Two different types of the valve disk configuration to adjust the blockage ratio were considered. One was the solid type valve disk of which the diameter was changed into the smaller size rather than the pipe diameter, and the other was the perforate type valve disk on which some holes were perforated. The results from two types of valve disk were compared to identify their characteristics in the loss coefficient distributions. The loss coefficient and the controllable angle of the valve disk were decreased exponentially with the decrease of the blockage ratio. In addition, the perforate valve disk had the effect on the higher loss coefficient rather than the solid type valve disk.

The aspect ratio is the main parameter which governs the outer flow pattern and nozzle performance.<br/> And in this study, some flow characteristics with the variation of nozzle aspect ratios such as mean<br/> pressure distributions along the center line of the outer flow, flow coefficients and the diffusion angles<br/> have been experimentally investigated. Through the experimental analysis, the higher aspect ratio was<br/> known to decrease the jet kinetic energy because of the friction losses at the outer of nozzle. As the<br/> result, it is found that the nozzle performance depends mainly on the aspect ratio of nozzle.
