The study conducted a gas engine performance assessment for the energy of synthetic gas. By evaluating engine output and thermal efficiency according to increase of access air ratio in the 1800 rpm conditions, access air ratio (λ) 1.4 represented the engine output 34 kWm. As access air ratio increased from 1 to 1.6, thermal efficiency decreased overall. In the engine output 34 kWm conditions, thermal efficiency increased from 34.2% to 38.1% when access air ratio increased from 1 to 1.4. The concentration of NOx was analyzed in 6.62 ppm and 6.06 ppm and showed a tendency to decrease.
