본 연구는 21세기 디지털경제의 산업생산 및 기업지원기능의 효율적 연계를 통한 지역의 혁신역량을 강화하기 위해 구미지역의 특성을 잘 반영한 구미과학연구단지 조성을 위한 수요조사를 실시하였다. 수요조사 결과를 요약하면 첫째, 향후 구미과학연구단지에서는 투자계획에 따른 R&D측면에서의 시급한 해결과제인 기술 및 품질개선을 위한 구체적이고 실천적인 다양한 개선책이 수립되어야 하며, 둘째, R&D과정 중 기술적 한계에 대한 산 · 학 · 연 네트워크 형성을 통해 기업에 실질적으로 도움을 줄 수 있어야 할 것이며 셋째, 구미산업단지의 발전에 저해가 될 요인으로는 원천기술부재와 신성장동력 발굴 미흡을 선택하였는데, 과학연구단지의 향후 과제는 원천기술을 확보할 수 있는 기초과학연구에 대한 중점적인 연구와 더불어 90년대 IT 만큼 성장 잠재력을 지니고 있는 신성장 동력 산업분야에 대한 비전에 대한 중장기 육성 로드맵 수립을 통한 조직적이고 체계적인 청사진이 제시되어야 할 것이다. 마지막으로 구미과학연구단지는 환경 친화적이며 미래 지향적으로 기업 실정에 맞는 단지 건립으로 R&D강화와 원천기술의 확보에 의해 국제경쟁력을 향상할 수 있도록 체계적인 지원이 필요할 것으로 사료된다. The purpose of this study is to survey the demand to create and foster Gumi Science Research Park that reflects characteristics of Gumi. This is to enforce the innovative capability of Gumi through effective linkage between industrial infrastructure and company’s resource function based on concentration upon inter-technological and inter-industrial R&D caused by drastic development of technology and network in digital economy of 21st century. To summarize the result of a field survey, first of all, specific and practical alternatives for enhancement of technology and quality should be suggested that is an imminent issue in terms of investment on R&D. Second of all, this shouldbe realistic help to companies through school-industry-research connection against technological limit. Third of all, structural and systematic blueprint should be demonstrated by mid-term roadmap of vision in terms of new driving force that has potential growth such as IT in the 90s along with focal research. Lastly Gumi Science Research Park requires systematic support through environment friendly and future oriented Research Park construction customized for enterprise situations for improving global(international) competitiveness by R&D enforcement and infra technology.
