본 연구는 현재 청소년 미혼모를 위한 대안학교에서 수학하고 있는 미혼모를 대상으로 대안학교에 참여한 동기 혹은 계기 대안학교에서의 경험 진로계획 , , 등을 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2011년 5월 20일부터 6월 20일까지 미혼모자시설에서 운영하는 대안학교 두 곳의 참가자 6명과 심층면접을 실시했다. 면접대상자는 현재 대안학교에 출석하고 있는 15세부터 19세까지의 미혼모들이다. 면접은 인 구사회학적 특징과 미혼모가 된 과정, 경험, 그리고 대안학교에 진학한 동기, 경험, 애로점이나 제안사항 등을 중심으로 실시하였다. 연구결과, 청소년미혼모와 미혼부중에는 부모의 사별, 별거, 불화, 무관심 등과 같은 부정적인 사건을 경험한 경우가 많았으나 임신 전 학교생활에 대해서는 원만했던 것으로 나타났다. 대안학교 참여하게 된 동기는 학업지속을 통해 가족의 기대에 부응하고 스스로도 새로운 출발점을 찾기 위함이었다. 또 가족과 본인 모두 최소한 고등학교 졸업 학력은 소지해야 취업이 가능할 것이라는 생각을 갖고 있었다. 면접참가자의 절반은 출산후 원적학교로 복귀하기를 원했다. 대부분 그 가능성을 확인하는 과정에서 학교당국과 불화를 겪고 있었으며, 대안학교는 이 상황에서 일종의 완충지대로서의 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 대안학교의 수업과 관련하여, 교육내용과 교사에 대해 만족하지만 수업시간이 짧은 점, 고등학생의 경우 실업고와 인문고를 구분하지 않고 통합교육을 진행하는 점에 대해서는 단점으로 꼽았다. 본 연구에서는 이런 결과를 청소년 미혼모의 교육권의 측면에서 논의하고 실천적 제언을 하였다. The purpose of this study is to examine the experiences of the unmarried mother`s alternative schooling. For this purpose, the data was collected through in-depth interviews with six unmarried mothers attending in alternative schools. By using the qualitative methods, we could find several results as follows. The unmarried adolescent mothers are studying in alternative schools to act up their parents` expectations and to make a new starting opportunity in their life. They and their parents think a certificate as an essential requirement to have a job and to live as independent person. But they have several difficulties in relationships with public schools. The responses from schools depend on their perceptions to the unmarried adolescent mothers. Several schools reject their return to school, but the other schools accept their students` situations and make support systems for their tests and achievements. In these cases, the unmarried adolescent mothers have plan to return to their original schools after departing the facilities. The alternative school`s professionals make a buffing role between the unmarried adolescent mothers and the public school teachers in difficult situations as above. We discuss the results with reference to the unmarried adolescent mother`s educational rights.
