중고령층의 사회참여와 삶의 만족도간의 관계: 사회적 관계와 주관적 건강의 매개효과 분석을 중심으로

본 연구의 목적은 중고령층의 삶의 만족도에 대한 사회참여의 직접효과와 사회적 관계 및 주관적 건강을 통한 간접효과를 검증하고 이를 근거로 중고령층의 삶의 만족도를 제고하기 위한 정책적 함의를 제공하는데 있다. 분석대상은 제6차 고령화연구패널조사에서 55세 이상 75세 미만 990명으로 하였으며, 분석방법으로는 PROCESS Macro를 이용하여 매개효과분석을 하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 비경제적 사회참여와 경제적 사회참여 모두 삶의 만족도에 직접적인 효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 매개변수인 사회적 관계와 주관적 건강 모두 중고령층의 사회참여와 삶의 만족도간에 완전매개 역할을 하는 것으로 확인된다. 셋째, 간접효과분석에서 비경제적 사회참여와 경제적 사회참여 모두 사회적 관계보다 주관적 건강을 매개했을 때 삶의 만족도가 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 분석결과를 근거로 중고령층 대상 다양한 사회참여 기회와 맞춤형 건강서비스 제공, 사회적 소통 강화, 지역사회 중심의 건강마을만들기운동 등 중고령층의 활동적인 노년을 설계하기 위한 정책방안 등을 제안하였다. This study aims to verify how social participation affects the life satisfaction among the middle-aged directly and indirectly through social relationships and health perception. By doing so, the study attempts to provide policy implications for enhancing the life satisfaction. Based on the samples of those aged 55-75 from the 6th ‘Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging (KLoSA), the study conducted mediated effect analysis using PROCESS Macro. The main results are as follow. First, social participation either economic or non-economic had no direct effect on life satisfaction. Second, both social relations and subjective health, are found to play a perfect mediating role between social participation and life satisfaction of middle-aged people. Third, indirect effect analysis showed that the mediating effect of health perception is greater than that of social relations. Such results suggest to consider policy alternatives for designing active old age of middle and old age, which include various social participation opportunities, customized health service and reinforcing social communication and community-centered health village campaign for health promotion.

생활협동조합 활동은 소비자운동을 넘어 공동체의 가치를 추구하는 생활정치운동의 일환이기도 하다. 본 연구는 진주아이쿱소비자생활협동조합을 사례로 생협이 지역사회에서 생활정치를 만들어가는 과정을 생협 조합원들의 관점에서 파악하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이 논문이 주목하는 ‘생활정치’(Life Politics)란 시민 또는 주민의 참여와 자치에 의한 민주적 지방정치가 이루어지는 정치, 시민사회의 운동과 생활에서 제기되는 구체적이고 실질적인 문제들을 해결할 수 있는 정치를 의미한다. 진주아이쿱생협은 무상급식 유지 및 진주의료원 폐쇄반대운동을 통해 시민생활의 공공성을 지키는 활동을 전개했다. 진주아이쿱생협은 지역사회의 일상생활을 위협하는 사안에 대응하는 활동에 그치는 것이 아니라, 주도적인 활동을 통해 생활정치운동을 확대 강화하기도 한다. 구체적으로 진주아이쿱생협은 ‘시의회 모니터링단’을 통하여 진주시의 예산 사용과 시의원들의 의정활동을 감시한다. 이는 정치에 대한 조합원들의 거부감을 낮추는 한편 자신의 일상적 삶 속에서 정치의식을 고취시키는 효과를 가진다. 조합원들에 의한 시 예산의 확보 과정과 사용 내역에 대한 검토 및 비판 활동은 생활정치에 대한 효능감도 높인다. 아울러 진주아이쿱생협은 일상 생활정치와 관련해 생협이 차지할 수 있는 위상과 역할을 모범적으로 보여주는 드문 사례라고 할 것이다. 이상의 결과는 의회와 정당 중심의 제도정치 외에, 일상적 삶 속에서 생활정치의 필요성과 중요성에 대한 인식을 강화한다. 지역사회 친화적인 의제를 다루고 지역주민들의 참여에 기초하는 생협의 특성을 고려한다면, 진주 이외 다른 지역에서의 생협 또한 해당 지역의 생활정치에 주요한 몫을 차지할 것으로 기대된다. This study aims to explore the process how the cooperate association builds up life politics in local community from the perspective of its members. In doing so, it pays special attention to the case of Jinju ICOOP. The life politics in the present study is understood as democratic local politics where the concrete and substantial problems in daily life can be solved through the participation of residents with an autonomy. Jinju ICOOP through support for maintenance of free school meal plan and movement against closing Jinju public medical center, promoted activities to preserve publicity in civil society. Furthermore, Jinju ICOOP expands and reinforces movements for life politics by leading activities beyond daily life problems. More specifically, Jinju ICOOP observes budget use of municipal government and activities of legislative assembly of Jinju City, by taking a part in ‘Committee of City Council Monitoring’. Such activities lessen resistance of the members against politics and inspire their political awareness in daily lives. They result in increase of political empowerment of the members. Jinju ICOOP can be viewed as a rare but exemplary case that shows the status and role of cooperate association in the realm of life politics. The finding from this study suggests the necessity and significance of life politics in daily life in addition to institutional politics centering on national parliament and political parties. Considering the characteristics of cooperate association dealing with agenda of local society on the basis of participation of community residents, cooperate associations in other areas are expected to become major contributors to life politics.

Comparative study was conducted on the Human Resouces Management Practices between U.S.A. and Japan with reference to their socio-cultural tradition and environments. Special attention were given to those topics as prevailing value system in both country underlying human and organizational behavior, uthority and responsiblility taking manner, inter-personal and social relations within conporate entity and society at large, and finally the pattern of individual involvement to the organization. The results clearly revealed that the sovio-cultural enviornmentsin respective country functions as the major influencing attributes in the formulation of current management practices.
