오리의 Uropygial gland 에서 NADPH 주 생성 경로에 관한 연구

It was examined about which enzyme system would play a major role for NADPH formation essential to fatty acid biosynthesis in the uropygial gland of Peking duck. By the comparison of each activity of NADP^+-specific enzymes in the both cell free extracts of the gland and the liver, the fact that pentose phosphate pathway was nearly five tines more active than pyruvate-malate cycle in the gland was revealed. Especially, the activity of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase was about six times higher than that of malic enzyme. These results indicate that pentose phosphate pathway might be the major route for NADPH formation in the uropygial gland.
