A new record of the subgenus Eusimulium Roubaud from Korea with an updated key to genera and subgenera of Korean black flies (Diptera: Simuliidae)

김삼규 국립생물자원관 2020 Journal of species research Vol.9 No.2

Larvae and pupae of Simulium (Eusimulium) satsumense were collected and recorded from Korea for the first time. Detailed descriptions and photographs of both immatures are provided. Currently, 42 species are known from the subgenus Eusimulium, which is found globally, mainly in the Holarctic Region, but unknown from Korea. Members of the subgenus Eusimulium are morphologically homogeneous in male, female, and pupa, making them extremely difficult to distinguish from one another. S. (E.) satsumense can be distinguished from other Korean black flies by the following combination of the characteristics: Pupa: Gill of four slender filaments, dorsalmost filament strongly divergent from other filaments; cocoon slipper shaped without anterodorsal projection; Larva: Head spots distinctly positive; postgenal cleft short, apically rounded or squared; antenna with proximal segment brown; abdominal segments IX with prominent ventral tubercles; and rectal papillae of three simple lobes. In addition to descriptions for larvae and pupae of the species, a key to genera and subgenera of Simulium of Korean black flies are also provided.

Morphology and Ecological Notes on the Larvae and Pupae of Simulium (Simulium) from Korea

김삼규 한국동물분류학회 2015 Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity Vol.31 No.4

Morphological features of larvae and pupae of twelve species of Simulium (Simulium) from Korea are investigated and redescribed. Detailed descriptions of immature stages of each species are provided with photographs. For the Korean members of subgenus Simulium, combinations of the following characteristics can be used to separate them from other Korean subgenera: larval abdomen without a pair of conical-shaped ventral tubercles; postgenal cleft variously shaped, viz., miter shaped, spearhead, bullet shaped or triangular; rectal papillae 3 simple lobe or compound lobes; pupal gill of 6-16 filaments; cocoon shoe, boot or slipper shaped; and head trichomes 3 pairs (1 facial+2 frontal). Habitat information and other ecological aspects of each species are provided. Updated keys to larvae and pupae of the Korean species of the subgenus Simulium are also provided to facilitate species identification. Taxonomic treatment based on external morphologies of larvae and pupae of Korean species of the subgenus Simulium are focused and included in this study. To understand their interspecific relationships, phylogenetic analyses using multiple data from molecule, morphology, and ecology are warranted in future research. Also continued exploration for new character systems is needed to establish more stable boundaries for subgenus and species delimitations.

Harpellales (Kickxellomycotina: Zygomycetes) fungi associated with the digestive tract of larval black flies (Diptera: Simuliidae) in Korea

        김삼규 한국곤충학회 2019 Entomological Research Vol.49 No.11

Harpellales fungi associated with larval black flies were studied for the first time in Korea. They are a common, widespread group of filamentous fungi that, as obligate symbionts, inhabit the digestive tracts of many terrestrial and aquatic arthropods. Total of 842 ultimate/penultimate instar larvae of black flies from 53 stream were dissected to detect trichomycetes colonization. As a result of the study, seven species of Harpellales including single undetermined Pennella species was found from eight species of black fly hosts: Harpella melusinae, Pennella angustispora, Pennella hovassi, Pennella KNU-1, Simuliomyces microsporus, Smittium simulii, and Smittium megazygosporum. Descriptions for general features including size and shape of trichospore and zygospores (if available) of each species and their host larval black flies were provided. A key to all known Harpellales fungi found in larval black flies from Korea was also provided.

      • 美國의 對韓서비스市場 開放壓力과 우리의 對應方案

        金三圭 慶星大學校 1988 論文集 Vol.9 No.2

A wide range of arguments on freedom of service trade issue recently had been vigorously made in recent Uruguay Round of GATT and on occassions of various international meetings on economic problems. In accordance with the maturity of our country's economy service trade issues have attracted our specific attention in view of market opening era in present world economy. Growth of service trade of developed countries including America are on trend to exceed that of goods trade currently among advanced countries, specially attached importance to America, recognition to attempt to establish integrated rule on service trade have been arise and a group for service trade have been set up in process of Uruguay Round talks held on Sep. 1986. On the other hand, considering our country's economy being, reached level of advanced economy and looking into the admission toward OECD in realily. It is the time for our country to accelerate open our service market to foreigners in turn of America's persistent demand to open our service market. Accordingly, at present, as problems faced us we will need to catch up real circumstance of present domestic service industries in view of national economy and prepare countermeasure on service market opening. This paper comprises four chapters. First chapter deal with introduction, second chapter a deseription analysis of service in the world economy is developed, third chapter the background of America's demand toward our service market opening were treated, in last chapter real state of our country's service trade are countermeasures against America's persistent opperssion for our service market opening were delieved.

Taxonomic Review of the Korean Pyrgotidae (Insecta: Diptera: Tephritoidea)

김삼규,한호연 한국동물분류학회 2009 Animal Systematics, Evolution and Diversity Vol.25 No.1

Pyrgotidae is a small acalyptrate family including about 370 species worldwide and little attention has been given to their systematics until recently. Latest changes in taxonomic status of some of the Korean species made this review inevitable. In the present study, the Korean pyrgotid species are reviewed with discussion of their taxonomic status. We also provide a revised key to all 14 Korean species (seven Adapsilia, three Eupyrgota, two Parageloemyia, one Porpomastix, and one Tephritopyrgota species) supplemented by digital images to facilitate accurate identification. Descriptions and comparison of two species closely resembling Simulium (Simulium) including a new species with an updated key to Korean Simuliidae (Diptera)

        김삼규 한국곤충학회 2015 Entomological Research Vol.45 No.1

Immature stages of Simulium (Simulium) coreanum sp. nov. and morphologically similar Simulium (Simulium) nikkoense are described from Korea. Detailed descriptions are supplemented with photographs and habitat information. The new species can be distinguished from the latter by rectal papillae with 3 simple lobes and labral fan with 51–58 primary rays. Keys to larvae and pupae of all known Korean simuliid species are also provided
