Porcine circovius type 2(PCV2) is a novel virus of Circoviridae familiy which is considering the cause of postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome(PMWS). This study was carried out to investigate the prevalence of PCV2 infection of swine in eastern areas of Gangwon province from February to June in 2005. Polymerase chain reaction(PCR) were conducted to identify the PCV2 genome against 80 pigs. The number of infection and its rate of 4 areas, 8 farms and 80 pigs were 3(75.0%), 7(88.0%) and 44(55.0%), respectively.
도축돈(屠畜豚)의 생식기내(生殖器內) 세균분리(細菌分離) 동정(同定) 및 약제감각실험(藥劑感覺實驗)

This study was conducted to determine the microorganisms inhabitating in sow genital organs and their anti-microbial drug susceptibility. During the period between February, 1991 and November 1991, 128 sow genital organs were sampled at six abattoirs. Gross pathological examination and bacterial isolation and identification were performed from the genital organ. In addition, antimicrobial drug susceptibility for the major organisms isolated were examined. 1. Among the bateria isolated from normal genital organs, E. coli(30.7%) Staphylococcus spp. (29.4%), Corynebacterium pyogenes(C. pyogenes) (14.7%), Streptococcus spp. (13.3%) were most freqently isolated, whereas the genera of Klebsiella, Actinobacillus, and Serratia were detected less freqently. 2. Among the bacteria isolated from abnormal genital organs, C. pyogenes(37.7%), Staphylococcus spp.(30.2%), Proteus spp.(26.4%), Pasteurella spp.(18.9%), Streptococcus spp.(9.4%) were most freqently isolated whereas the genera of Pseudomonas, Serratia and Klebsiella were detected less freqently. 3. From sow genital organs showing lesion of endometritis and purulent endometritis C. pyogenes were most freqently isolated, the isolation rate being 67.7% and followed by Staphylococcus spp., E. coli., Proteus spp., Streptococcus spp. and Pasteurella spp. in the order. 4. Antimicrobial drug susceptibility of the major organisms showed that all the isolates were susceptible to cephalothin, ampicillin, chloramphenicol and sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim, but resistant to penicillin and streptomycin.

To investigate epidemological sitution of bovine viral diarrhea infection, serological survey in cattle being raised in Young Dong province were conducted. Bovine sera collected ramdomly from August 1990 to December 1990 were tested for bovine viral diarrhea virus serum neutralizing antibody titers. The results were as follows. 1. BVDV SN antibody levels were considerably varies and positive rate was 58(108 heads out of 186). 2. BVDV SN antibodies to breeds of cattle was various and positive rates showed that diary cattle, beef, native cattle(Korean) were 67.52%, 59.38%, 27.00% respectively followed in that order. 3. In the regional prevalence of BVD SN antibodies in cattle, Alpine(92%) was the highest, Young Dong south(59%), middle(44%), and North 38% followed in that order. 4. In the age relatated prevalence of BVD SN antibodies, the younger than 6 month old group was the highest 65.7%, and older than 25 month old group was also at 62.2%. Then, 7 to 12 moth old group and 13 to 24 month old group showed to 58.5%, 52.1% respectively. 5 The geometric mean titer(log2) of 108 cattle serum samples showing positive BVD SN ant: bodies was 4.3. 6. In the geometric mean titer(log2) according to age, younger than 6 month old group (5.2) was the highest, then 7 to 12 month old group 2.8(SD=1.94 standard deviation) was lowliest.
