In contrast with the earth-anchored type suspension bridge, the self-anchored type suspension bridge is in general constructed by tying the vertical hangers to the stiffening girder before tying the hangers. In this structural system, the initial tension force should be applied to the hangers. During the tying process, the cable force transmitted from the hangers to the girder varies continuously. Due to the force variations of the hangers and the main cables, the self-anchored type suspension bridge is considered as the structural system whose structural behavior differs in each construction stage. In this paper, the initial configuration of the bridge loaded by the self-weight of the structure is found by the geometrically nonlinear structural analysis. The fatigue train load and the fatigue truck load can be applied to the position producing a maximum stress range at the critical section. the maximum stress ranges are compared with the allowable fatigue stress ranges specified in the several foreign bridge design specification, and fatigue design of the orthotropic steel plate deck is also studied.

An experiment was conducted to determine suitability of broiler litter for a dietary supplement examining dry matter intake, digestibility and nitrogen balance in spotted deer (Cervus nippon) fed commercial mixed ration. The fermented broiler litter was supplemented at the levels of 0 (Control), 15 (BL15) and 30% (BL30) on the basis of fresh matter to commercial mixed ration. Three female spotted deer were allocated to a 3 × 3 latin square design for experiment and were given three experimental diets. Dry matter intake was significantly higher (P$lt;0.05) in BL30 than in control and BL15. Dry matter digestibility decreased according to increasing the supplementary level of fermented broiler litter and there was significant difference (P$lt;0.05) between Control and BL30. Retained nitrogen was highest in BL15 and lowest in BL30, however there were no significant differences among treatments. The ratio of retained nitrogen to nitrogen intake was significantly lower (P$lt;0.05) in BL30 than in others. Consequently, fermented broilor litter could be used up to from 15 to 30% in deer feed source without any harmful effect on deer performance.
