        꼬리명주나비의 혈구 분화 경로를 투과전자현미경을 이용하여 관찰하였다. 혈구의 분화는 조혈기관의 loose islet내에서 진행되었는데, 간세포로부터 원시혈구, 부정형혈구, 과립혈구, 소구혈구가 독자적 경로를 통해 분화되었으며 편도혈구의 분화양상은 관팔되지 않았다. Brehein과 Zachary(1986)의 기준에 따라 조혈기관 주변의 미성숙한 혈구를 관찰한 결과 원시혈구, 부정형혈구, 과립혈구, 소구혈구, 편도혈구로 구분되었다. Ultrastructural characteristics of hemocytic differentiation pathway in Sericinus montetla Grey were observed with transmission electron microscope. Hemocytic differentiation took place in loose islets of hemopoietic organs as indicated by the presence of differentiating hemocytes; prohemocytes, plasmatocytes, granular cells and spherule cells. They are differentiatied from the stem cells through individual cell lineages. However, differentiating aspects of the oenocytoids were not observed. According to Brehelin and Zachary (1986), the premature hemocytes around the hemopoietic organs were classified into five types; prohemocytes, plasmatocytes, granular cells, spherule cells and oenocytoids.

        Keirsey 이론에 의한 중.고등학생용 학습유형 검사의 개발 및 타당화

        This study aimed to develop and validate the learning style inventory of middle and high school students based on Keirsey's theory. The study was conducted under three separate phases for this purpose. In the first phase, the compositions and factors of the preliminary learning style inventory were examined for their suitability. In the phase, the preliminary test was developed for the learning inventory. Items of 280 suitable for middle and high school students were designed through the analysis of previous research and examined by three counselors with doctorate degrees in counseling psychology. As a result, 270 items were chosen for this purpose. In the second phase, the compositions and factors for the learning style inventory were also examined for their suitability. In the phase, the items for the learning style inventory were selected from a factor analysis of the results from 879 middle and high school students. As a result, the second preliminary test composed of 207 items was created. The items for the second preliminary test were further selected from a factor analysis of the results from 1,192 middle and high school students. In the last phase, the learning style test was checked for its validation. Finally, the last learning style inventory, composed of 60 items, was created. The reliability for factors of the learning style inventory was examined. In the phase, the correlation with the learning style inventory was examined and verified with the learning method test and Dunns'(1996) learning method test. Consequently, the learning style inventory developed through this study was proven to be an appropriate tool in evaluating Keirsey's four personality types. In addition, the limitations of the study are proposed in the conclusion. 본 연구에서는 Keirsey 이론에 근거한 중․고등학생을 위한 학습유형 검사를 개발하고, 그 타당도를 검증하는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위하여 먼저 학습유형 예비검사를 개발하였다. 1차 예비검사는 선행연구들을 검토하여, 본 연구의 대상인 중․고등학생들에게 적합하다고 생각되는 문항 280개를 만들어 이 문항들을 상담심리 박사학위를 소지한 3명의 상담전문가로부터 점검을 받은 결과, 중․고등학생들의 학습유형을 측정하는 데 적절하지 않은 10문항을 제외한 270문항으로 이루어진 검사이다. 다음에는 이 1차 예비검사를 P시에 거주하는 중․고등학생 879명을 대상으로 실시한 자료로 요인분석을 실시하여 207문항으로 이루어진 2차 예비검사를 완성하였다. 이 2차 예비검사를 P시에 소재한 중․고등학생 1,192명에게 실시한 자료로 다시 요인분석을 실시하여 60문항으로 구성된 최종 학습유형검사를 제작하였다. 다음에는 본 연구결과 개발된 학습유형 검사를 타당화하기 위하여 학습방법 검사, Dunn 등의 학습유형 검사와의 상관분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 다음과 같은 결론을 내릴 수 있다. 첫째, 본 연구를 통하여 개발된 학습유형 검사는 행동지향형, 성실․책임형, 성장․이상형, 분석․탐구형, 관계민감형, 억지학습형의 6개의 구성요인으로 이루어진 사실이 밝혀졌으며, 6개의 요인 모두 문항내적 합치도가 .78이상인 신뢰로운 척도라는 사실이 밝혀졌다. 둘째, 본 연구에서 개발한 학습유형 검사가 Keirsey가 분류한 성격 기질 SP, SJ, NT, NF 4가지의 개념을 측정하기에 적절한 검사라는 사실이 밝혀졌다.

        Basidiospore Development and Fine Structure of Entoloma violaceobrunneum

        Four sterigmata of papillaform E. violaceobrunneum are developed from crator-shaped basidium. The apex of sterigma is swollen to a small globeform. And then it is swollen to a clubform. The clubform is again swollen to a ellipticalform, and then more than six spots of spore surfaces are ramdomly depressed with hilum axes. When the depression of surface of a elliptical spore is over, the spore is a heterodiametrical spore of multi-angular.

        Additive Effects of Heat and p38 MAPK Inhibitor Treatment on Melanin Synthesis

        It has been reported that the activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) reduces melanin synthesis. Recently, we also found that heat treatment induces ERK activation and inhibits melanogenesis in Mel-Ab cells (a mouse melanocyte cell line). In addition, it was reported that p38 MAPK (mitogen-activated protein kinase) inhibition blocks melanogenesis. Thus, we investigated the effects of heat and of the p38 MAPK inhibitor, SB203580, on melanogenesis. In this study, we found that heat treatment activates ERK and reduces melanin production in human melanocytes, and that this is accompanied by a reduction in tyrosinase activity. To regulate the ERK and p38 MAPK pathways simultaneously, we combined heat treatment and SB203580 and measured melanin synthesis. The results obtained showed that heat treatment and SB203580 reduced melanin synthesis more effectively than heat or SB203580 alone. We conclude that ERK activation and p38 MAPK inhibition can work in an additive manner to decrease melanogenesis.

        Basidiospore Development and Fine Structure of Entoloma squmiferrum

        Basidia of Entoloma squamiferrum are developed from hymenium layer of cartor-shaped parabasidium. Apex of basidium is flat or depressed in the center. Although four sterigmata are developed, only two sterigmata are symmetrically swollen to two spores im certain basidia. It means that two sterigmata among four sterigmata are imfertil. A spore is formed by inflation of the apex of the sterigma. The apex of the sterigma is swollen into a paillaform and then turned into a penisform. It is swollen from a clubform into a globefrom. Six spots of the surfaces of globose spore are depressed with hilum axes. Finally the spore is cuboid, and then it is released from hilum.

        꼬리명주나비(Sericinus montela Grey) 유충혈구의 미세구조

        본 연구는 꼬리명주나비(Sericinus montela Grey)의 유충을 재료로 하여 투과전자현미쟁과 주사전자현미경을 이용하여 혈구의 미세구조를 관찰하였다. 꼬리명주나비 종령유충의 혈구는 구조와 특징에 따라 5종류로 구분되었다. 원시혈구(Prohemocyte)는 세포내에 하나의 큰 핵과 미분화된 세포내 소기관을 가지고 있었다. 부정형혈구(Plasmatocyte)는 섬유다발을 가진 방추행 또는 난형의 비교적 큰 세포로, 특히 방추형의 세포는 길게 발달한 핵을 갖고 있었다. 과립혈구(Granular cell)는 세포질내에 다양한 과립과 잘 발달한 소기관을 함유하고 있었으며 원형질 돌기를 많이 가지고 있었다. 소구형혈구(Spherule cell)는 세포질내에 미세한 물질을 함유한 소구(spherule)를 가자고 있으며 성숙한 세포는 소구내의 물질을 혈림프내로 방출시켰다. 편도혈구(Oenocytoid)는 세포질내 전자밀도가 높은 물결로 채워져 있으며 소기관은 잘 발달되어 있지 않았다. Ultrastructure of the larval hemocytes in Sericinus montela Grey was observed with the transmission and scanning electron microscope. The 5 cell types, according to Breh lin and Zachary(1986), identified in the hemocytes of the last instar S. montela larva were; prohemocyte, plasmatocyte, granular cell, spherule cell and oenocytoid. Prohemocytes could be easily charaterized by a relatively large nucleus nd poorly developed cytoplasmic organelles. Plasmatocytes were relatively large spindle-shaped or oval cells with fibrous bundles. The spindle-shaped plasmatocytes, especially, were characterized by a well developed, elongated nucleus. Granular cells had various granules, either morphologically or in electron density, and highly developed cytoplasmic organelles in the cytoplasm. They had numerous cytoplasmic processes. Spherule cells were characterized by cytoplasmic spherules containing fine materials, which are released into the hemolymph upon maturity of the cell. Oenocytoids consisted of electron dense materials and the organelles in cytoplasm were poorly developed.

        (-)-Epigallocatechin-3-gallate and Hinokitiol Reduce Melanin Synthesis via Decreased MITF Production

        In this study, the effects of (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) and/or hinokitiol (b-thujaplicin) on melanogenesis were investigated. Our results showed that both EGCG and hinokitiol significantly inhibited melanin synthesis in a concentration-dependent manner, and that their hypopigmenting effects were stronger than that of kojic acid, which is known to inhibit melanin formation in melanocytes and melanoma cells. Interestingly, EGCG did not show any additive hypopigmenting effect in combination with kojic acid, though EGCG did show a synergistic effect in combination with hinokitiol. Several reports indicate that the activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) induces microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF) degradation. Accordingly, the effects of EGCG and hinokitiol on the ERK signaling pathway were examined. EGCG and hinokitiol induced neither ERK activation nor MITF degradation. On the other hand, both EGCG and hinokitiol reduced the protein levels of MITF and of tyrosinase, the rate limiting melanogenic enzyme, whereas kojic acid had no effect. In addition, hinokitiol strongly downregulated the activity of tyrosinase, whereas EGCG or kojic acid had only a little effect. These results show that both EGCG and hinokitiol reduce MITF production, and suggest that reduced tyrosinase activity by hinokitiol explains their synergistic effect on melanogenesis.

        Cytoprotective Effect of Green Tea Extract and Quercetin against Hydrogen Peroxide-Induced Oxidative Stress

        In this study, we evaluated the cytoprotective effects of antioxidative substances in hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) treated Mel-Ab melanocytes. Tested substances include selenium, quercetin, green tea (GT) extract, and several vitamins (ascorbic acid, Trolox, and folic acid). Of these, both quercetin and GT extract were found to have strong cytoprotective effects on H2O2- induced cell death. We also examined additive effects, but no combination of two of any of the above substances was found to act synergistically against oxidative damage in Mel-Ab cells. Nevertheless, a multi-combination of GT extract, quercetin, and folic acid appeared to prevent cellular damage in a synergistic manner, which suggests that combinations of antioxidants may be of importance, and that co-treatment with antioxidants offers a possible means of treating vitiligo, which is known to be related to melanocyte oxidative stress.

        Ultrapulse 탄산가스 레이저에 의한 창상 모델의 정립

        N/A Background: Wound model is important for the development of dressing materials in dermatologic practice, Most of the wound healing models are not standardized, individualized ones for each special situation. Objectives: The purpose of our study is to establish a standardized wound model for evaluating the efficiency of wound healing of dressing material and the effect of epidermal growth factor(EGF) on artificially induced wounds. Methods: Using ultrapulse CO₂ laser and rats, we calibrates the most effective level of energy, frequency, and pulse duration for a wound model of upper dermis. Then, we evaluated the effect of various dressing materials such as vaseline gauze, collagen sponge, collagen sponge containing EGF and hydrogel on wound healing. Results: We obtained relatively even and uniformed wound models of upper dermal level with the setting of ultrapulse CO₂ 1aser; continuous mode, 800watt, frequency of 100Hz, and pulse duration of 0.3ms. Wounds applied with collagen sponge containing EGF showed relatively accelerated wound healing, but wounds with hydrogel or collagen sponge only showed delayed healing of wounds Conclusion: Ultra CO₂ laser could make a wound model of uniform depth level and could be used as a tool for making standardized wound models.
