Large amounts of polypropylene(PP) is used widely in automotive parts. The kinds of recycling are two ways. One is chemical recycling which converts the various materials. The other is physical or mechanical recycling which can be incorporated into the virgin material. In recycling case, the physical properties of the recycled materials are inferior to these of the virgin materials. So, it is very important to find out the contents of the scrap in the products. In this study, the rheological analysis technique is used to quantify the recycled contents and characterize grade of the automotive plastic, PP. It was shown that the new rheological method could be possible to calculate for the recycled material contents in the products and characterize grade of polymer for automotive polymer.
