5,18 30주년 언론보도의 유형과 특성에 관한 연구

이 연구는 광주 민주화운동 30주년을 맞아 5.18의 정체성을 되돌아보기 위해 전국 주요 일간지의 보도를 분석하여 5.18 광주민주화 운동의 언론보도의 유형과 그 특성을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 구체적으로 5.18 30주년을 맞아 신문의 기사유형은 어떠한가? 신문 간에 기사유형의 차이는 무엇인가? 또 5.18 30주년을 맞아 신문뉴스보도에 있어서 사용된 주요 뉴스 프레임의 특성은 무엇인가? 를 연구문제로 삼았다. 이 연구문제를 알아보기 위해 2010년 5월 3일부터 5월22일까지로 21일간 전국 주요 일간지 5.18 30주년 관련보도를 분석하였다. 분석결과 기사유형에서 신문 별 차이를 보였다. 진보적 성향의「한겨레」와「경향신문」은 기사유형에서 기획과 해설(종합)기사가 많았으며, 보수적 성향의 중앙일간지는 관련 기사가 적었을 뿐 아니라 유형별 차이도 뚜렷하지 않았다. 광주·전남 지역신문들은 기획, 사설, 해설, 스트레이트, 인터뷰, 사진, 칼럼/기고 등 비교적 다양한 유형을 보였다. 전국 언론의 5.18 30주년에 관한 신문보도에 주요하게 사용된 뉴스 프레임을 분석한 결과 중앙 일간지와 광주·전남 지역신문의 뉴스 프레임 간에 비슷한 프레임을 구성하고 있었다. 대신 진보적 성향의 「한겨레」는 다른 중앙 일간지와 지역 일간지와 달리 역사적 사실/회고 프레임을 강조하고 있다. 주목할 사실은 광주·전남 지역신문의 뉴스 프레임은 중앙 일간지와 달리 기념행사와 관련 문화행사와 각종 이벤트 등의 프레임을 강조하는 특성을 보인다. 이는 5.18 관련 단체들의 주요 행사를 알리는 역할에 지역신문이 안주하는 경향을 보여준 것이다. 의외로 추모, 인권, 진상규명 등은 주요 프레임으로 다루어지지 않았다. 이 점은 광주·전남 지역신문의 보도에서 5.18에 대한 정체성을 확립하는데 있어서 새로운 접근의 시도가 부족하다고 할 수 있다. 이를 다시 해석하면 전국 일간지 대부분은 5.18에 대한 치열한 진실규명이나 새로운 사실을 발굴에 대한 적극적인 노력을 보여주지 못하고 대신 기념행사와 문화행사를 통한 박제화된 기념일 이상으로 진전을 보여주지 못한다는 사실을 말해준다. The purpose of this study is analyzing daily newspaper reports and examining how the patterns and characteristics of the news reports could be classified in order to look back on the identity of the May 18 Democratic Movement on the 30th anniversary day. For the analysis, three different questions were selected as main factors to figure out: how the patterns of the newspaper reports on the 30th anniversary of the May 18 Movement could be classified; what kind of differences could be found among major newspaper reports; and what are the characteristics of the major news frames used for the newspaper reports. The results are as follows, Firstly, the differences in news report patterns were found in each newspaper. ``The Hangyoreh`` and ``The Kyunghyang shinmun``, which have a progressive inclination, dealt with lots of planning news and explanation reports. Otherwise the conservative daily newspapers published in Seoul areas, just reported what happened and showed no differences of news report patterns. The newspapers published in Gwangju and Jeonnam provincial regions had various types of news reporting such as planning news, editorials, explanations, straights, interviews, photos, columns or writings, etc. Secondly, the analysis of news frame mainly used in daily newspapers nationwide for the purpose of reporting the 30th anniversary of the May 18 Movement indicated that a similar kind of news frame was used in Seoul areas and Gwangju and Jeonnam local newspapers. Only the progressive ``The Hangyoreh`` emphasized the historical fact and reflection frame unlike the other newspapers. The news frames preferred by Gwangju and Jeonnam region-based newspapers showed a distinctive attribute to emphasize the cultural and commemorative events regarding the 30th anniversary. This is quite different from other newspaper frames and could be resulted from the Gwangju and Jeonnam local newspapers` tendency in satisfying their current roles to report the major events of the May 18 organizations. They did not deal with reverence to the fallen, human rights, and truth revelation in their news reports. They definitely lack of new approaches to build the identity of the May 18 Movement through their news reports. In other words, the majority of newspapers could not contribute to discovering new facts and revealing the truth and they just informed of commemorative and cultural events to people. There could be found no advances in news reports regarding the May 18 Movement. The Movement reported in many newspapers were no more than a stuffed day to commemorate in our history.

전통장르를 통한 캐릭터 활용사례 연구

전통장르 판소리 <춘향가>의 캐릭터들을 변화해 새롭게 탄생한 영화 <방자전>, 드라마 <쾌걸 춘향>은 모두 상업적으로 성공했고, 광고 <신춘향전 1>은 좋은 광고상을 수상했다. 이 세작품은 전통장르의 캐릭터들을 성공적으로 활용한 사례라 평가할 수 있다. 영화 <방자전>, 드라마 <쾌걸 춘향>, 광고 <신향단전 1>의 캐릭터들을 전통장르의 캐릭터들과 유사하지만 새로운 성격을 가진 인물들로 변화하였음을 알 수 있다. 이렇게 달라진 캐릭터들은 전통장르의 인물들과 다른 인간관계를 형성하고, 새로운 사건과 갈등을 발생시켜 전통장르와는 다른 결론에 도달해 전통장르와 다른 이야기를 새롭게 완성한다. 또한 향유자들은 이미 전통장르에 대해 알고 있기 때문에 새로운 작품에서 기존과 차이를 발견하면서 즐거움을 찾고, 새로운 작품은 새로운 작품 그 자체로 새롭게 즐길 수 있게 되었다. 즉, 단일 작품으로 복수의 즐거움을 누릴 수 있어 그 즐거움의 폭이 깊고 넓어졌다고 평가할 수 있다. 이는 전통장르의 캐릭터의 변화가 있었기에 가능한 결과였기에 앞으로도 전통장르의 캐릭터 활용은 주목할 필요있다고 판단된다. Changed the birth of a new genre of traditional pansori character <Chunhyangga> movie <The Servant>, both drama <Sassy Girl Chun Hyang> has had commercial success, won a good ad Advertisement <New Chunhyangjeon 1>. The cases referred to assess the character of successfully using the three traditional genre works. Movie <The Servant>, the drama <Sassy Girl Chun Hyang>, advertisements similar to the character of the traditional genre of character <New Chunhyangjeon 1> but we can see that it has changed into a new person with a personality. This genre has changed their character and traditional character forms a relationship with other traditional genres, by generating a new event and a new conflict to complete the traditional genres and different stories to reach a different conclusion. In addition, those who enjoy the traditional genre because I know already about the differences found in the new work with existing and pleasure found. It was also able to enjoy the new work is in itself new. In other words, you can enjoy the pleasure of a plurality of single works have deepened their joy width. This result was possible because there was a change in the character of the traditional genre. Therefore, we believe the future is important to note the character of use of traditional genres.

지방자치단체의 지역신문 지원조례 추진에 관한 연구

본 연구는 최근 각 지방 자치 단체를 중심으로 추진 중인 지역신문 지원조례의 현황과 문제점을 분석하여 바람직한 추진방향을 모색하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 각 지역에서 지역신문 지원조례 제정의 필요성에 대한 논의가 이루어지게 된 배경은 「지역신문발전지원특별법」이라는 법적, 제도적 측면의 요인과 지방 언론의 활성화가 지방자치 발전과 지역발전과 밀접하게 연관되어 있다는 인식에 바탕을 두고 있다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 첫 번째, 지역신문의 경쟁력을 강화하고 지역발전과 연관시키기 위한 조례의 내용과 지향점은 어떠해야 하는가? 두 번째, 각 지역별 지역신문 관련 조례 추진 현황 및 차이점은 어떠한가? 라는 문제를 중심으로 연구하였다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 지역신문 위기의 원인을 진단하고 지역성의 강화를 통한 경쟁력 강화 방안과 관련된 기존의 연구와 지역신문 지원제도와 법의 제정 필요성을 강조한 기존 연구들을 검토함으로써, 2004년 제정된 「지역신문발전지원특별법」을 보완하는 차원에서 추진 중인 각 지방자치단체의 지역신문 지원조례 제정 필요성의 학문적 근거를 확보하였다. 이를 위해 지역신문 관련 조례 제정의 내용과 지향점 등을 분석기준으로 하였다. 이는 수용자 중심의 새로운 저널리즘의 가능성으로 구체적으로 수용자 지원과 구독자 지원을 살펴보았으며, 공익적 책임과 독립성의 유지, 홍보예산의 운용과 기금의 설치, 지원대상의 지원기준상향과 지원매체의 범위로 하였다. 분석결과 비교를 보면 각 지역별 조례안은 조례의 명칭, 위원의 구성 및 추천방법, 사무국 운영 방안, 지원 대상 매체의 범위, 지방자치단체의 책임여부, 기금설치 여부, 수용자, 구독자 지원여부 등에서 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 바람직한 지역신문 지원조례의 추진방향은 지역신문이 지역의 특성과 지역민의 뜻을 반영하고 지역민이나 시민의 이익을 대변하는 공론장의 기능을 할 수 있도록 경쟁력을 강화하는 데 두어야 함을 보았다. 즉 수용자 중심의 지원 강화를 위해 독자중심의 ``구독료 지원제도``의 정착과 ``우수한 지역밀착형 콘텐츠`` 보도에 대한 지원을 강화하고 정치적으로 독립적으로 운영되고 지역토착세력과의 유착관계 없는 ``독자성을 확보하는 위원회``의 구성과 ``기금의 설치`` 및 ``독립적인 사무국``의 운영방안을 제시하였다. 결론적으로 지역신문관련 조례는 난립구조로 왜곡되어 있는 지역신문 시장 구조를 개편하고 지역신문 저널리즘 기능을 정상화하기 위한 지역신문 개혁의 방안이 되어 지역신문시장의 정상화에 기여하여야 한다. 그런 의미에서 지역신문 지원 조례는 수용자 중심의 지원 방안을 담아야 하며 지나치게 서두르지 않고 충분히 논의함으로써 지역신문 지원조례의 필요성에 대한 지역사회의 공감대를 확산하는 것이 중요하다. The purpose of this study is, by analyzing the current situations and problems of regulations of supporting local newspapers which is recently carried out by various local governments, to seek for desirable directions for its future improvement. There are two main reasons for the discussion on the necessity of enacting regulations of supporting local newspapers by various local governments. One reason is based on the legal and institutional dimension following the enactment of "the special law of supporting the development of local newspapers". The other one is based on the recognition that the stimulation of local media is closely related to the development of local autonomy and regional development. This study emphasizes on two issues. First, in order to improve local newspapers` competitiveness and connect it with regional development, what would be the content and intention of the regulations? Second, by the premise that local newspapers represent public interest, what is the current situations and differences in promoting regulations of supporting local newspapers by different regions? By examining previous studies that analyzed the reason for the crisis of local newspapers and identified the means of improving competitiveness by strengthening local ties, and studies that emphasize the necessity of enacting regulations or laws of supporting local newspapers, this study is to secure academic grounds for the necessity of enacting regulations of supporting local newspapers by local governments as a complementary measure for "the special law of supporting the development of local newspapers" that was established in 2004. For this, the criteria of this analysis are set to be the content and intention of regulations related to local newspapers. We specifically examine the support for audience and readers as a new audience -centered potential journalism, and covered the responsibility of public interest, sustainability of independence, budget operation of publicity activities, establishment of funds, improved standards of selecting newspapers, and scope of supporting media. The result of this analysis shows that there are differences by various local governments in the titles of regulations, composition and recommendation method of committee members, operational plans of executive offices, scope of supporting media, responsibility of local government, establishment of funds, support for audience and readers. The desirable direction in promoting the regulations of local newspapers is to reflect local characteristics and local people`s will, and to improve competitiveness so that it should become the public place to discuss or speak for the will of local people. That is, in order to strengthen audience-centered support, this study proposes the establishment of reader-centered "subscription subsidy policy", increasing support for reporting "excellent local news", politically independent operations, foundation of "autonomous committee" that has no relationship with local powers, establishment of funds, operations of "independent executive offices". In summary, regulations related to local newspapers should aim to restructure distorted market structure of local newspapers, become a reform plan to normalize the functions of journalism, contribute to the normalization of local newspaper market. In this sense, regulations of supporting local newspapers should include audience-centered support plan and carry out in-depth review of the plan. Thus it is important to create a common understanding within local society about the necessity of the regulations of supporting local newspapers.
