Extraction-spectrophotometric determination of mercury(Ⅱ) was studied by associated complex formation using antipyrine, antipyretics and eosin, halogenated xanthenes. K₂SO₄was added for the promotion of complex formation and it's optimal concentration was 0.3M. Optiaml conditions for the quantitative analysis of trace of mercury(Ⅱ) were investigated. Molar ratio of Hg(Ⅱ)-antipyrine-eosin complex was presumed as 1:4:2. Linear calibration curve was obtained in the range of 6~28㎍/㎖ at 485nm. Mercury(Ⅱ) determination of this method was interfered in the presence of metals such as ??, ??,, ??, ?? and ??, halides an dthiocyanate, but the interferences of metals except ?? were masked with 0.01M-sod. tartrate.

Most Annonaceous acetogenins are potently bioactive and offer exciting potential as new antitumor, pesticidal and other bioactives. All of the Annonaceous acetogenins have been isolated from the Annonaceae. Acetogenins are waxy substances consisting of C₃₂or C₃₄long chain fatty acids which have been combined with a propan-2-ol unit at C-2 to form a γ-lactone. Acetogenins have been isolated from an extract of the seeds of Asimina triloba by directing the fractionation with brine shrimp lethality. The structures were characterized on the basis of chemical and spectral data. Annonacin A, which is known but is first isolated in this species, was obtained. In brine shrimp lethality test (BST), annonacin A exhibited cytotoxicity.

The Pb content of soil from areas close to (46 samples) and remote from (4 samples) traffic was determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometry, and investigated on the effect of antiknocking agent. The increase of traffic was connected with the Pb content of soil. It is considered that tetraethyl and related compounds used as antiknocking agent affect on the accumulation of Pb in soil associated with traffic.

A codon-optimized 2-deoxyribose-5-phosphate aldolase(DERA) gene from Haemophilus influenzae Rd KW20 wassynthesized and expressed in Escherichia coli, and the biochemicalproperties of its product were investigated. DERA was purifiedusing affinity chromatography and characterized using 2-deoxyribose-5-phosphate as the substrate. Specific activity of the recombinantDERA was 34.1 Umg−1. The pH and temperature optima were 7.5and 40oC, respectively. Additionally, the recombinant enzymeretained stability up to temperatures below 50oC. Maximal enzymeactivity was observed in presence of 300 mM of acetaldehyde. The apparent Km and Vmax of purified enzyme towards 2-deoxyribose-5-phosphate were 0.14 mM and 70.42 μmol min−1mg−1 and towards 2-deoxy-D-ribose were 24.77 mM and 1.94μmol min−1 mg−1, respectively. For synthesis of statin intermediates,the bioconversion process for production of (3R, 5S)-6-chloro-2,4,6-trideoxy-erythro-hexose from chloroacetaldehyde andacetaldehyde using the recombinant DERA was studied and thisprocess took 3 h for maximal conversion. This recombinantDERA could be potentially applied in the production of (3R, 5S)-6-chloro-2,4,6-trideoxy-erythro-hexose.
Polarography 法에 依한 p-Nitrobenzaldoxime의 定量

The polarographic method is very sensitive, selective and less time consuming than other methods recommended for the determination of p-nitrobenzaldoxime. The object of this paper is to study the electroreducations of p-nitrobenzaldoxime formed by the reaction of p-nitrobenzaldehyde and hydroxylamine hydrochloride, and p-nitrobenzaldehyde single. Dropping mercury electrode (DME), Ag/AgCl electrode and Pt wire were served as working, reference and auxiliary electrode, respectively. The capillary characteristics of the DME at a mercury height of 70cm were m=0.90 mg. sec? and t=2.0sec. All experiments were performed at 25±0.2℃. Dissolved air was removed from the solution by bubbling oxygen-free nitrogen through the cell for 10 min. In order to establish the optimum conditions of p-nitrobenzaldoxime's polarogram. we investigated the effects of alcohol concentration, supporting electrolyte, pH, temperature and standing time. Polarogram of p-nitrobenzaldoxime recorded from 0.1M sulfuric acid exhibits a well-defined 4-electron reduction wave. The a.c. current is diffusion-controlled and increases linearly with the concentraion of p-nitrobenzaldozime. The half potential of p-nitrobenzaldoxime was -72 V vs. Hg pool. The linear calibration curve was obtained in the range of 40~160㎍/ℓ. Thus, the polarographic determination of p-nitrobenzaldoxime was more sensitive above 10-fold than p-nitrobenzaldehyde.

known α-amyrin triterpenoids, ursolic acid (1), 2α,3α-dihydro xyurs-12-ene-28-oic acid (2) andeuscaphic acid (3), and β-amyrin triterpenoid, 3β-hydroxyolean-5,12-diene (4), and α-spinasterol (5) have beenisolated from the fractionated n-butanol extracts of the spikes of Prunella vulgaris var. lilacina, guided by DNAtopoisomerases I and II inhibitory activities and cytotoxic activity against human cancer cells. Their structureswere elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic and chemical methods. Their diverse bioactivities as antitumour, immunosuppressive, pesticidal, anthelmintic and antimicrobial agents have attracted more and more interest worldwide. Acetogenin has been isolated from an extract of the seeds of Asimina triloba by directing the fractionation with brine shrimp lethality test. The structure was characterized on the basis of chemical and spectral data. Asimin, which is known but is first isolated in this species, was obtained. In brine shrimp lethality test (BST), asimin exhibited cytotoxicity.

Scrophularia buergeriana Miquel(Scrophulariaceae) is a perennial herb growing in all parts of Korea. It has been used as a Korean folk medicine in treating guttural diseases acting as an antiphlogistics, antipyretics and analgesics. In this paper, the structural elucidation of chemical components was studied. From the roots of this plant, a phthalate and an iridoid glycoside were isolated and identified as bis (2-ethyl hexyl) phthalate and aucubin, respectively. Bis (2-ethyl hexyl) phthalate was first isolated from natural sources. Aucubin was first isolated from Scrophularia buergeriana Miquel.

The structuresof these compounds were characterized on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic data. Compounds 1 and 2 havea relative stereochemistry relationship of threo/trans/threo across the mono-tetrahydrofuran ring with its twoflanking hydroxyls. Compounds 1 and 2 are known, but are first isolated from this plant.
