The post harvest treatment of barley had many hard work steps, such as drying, cleaning, and packing. This is a reason why farmer doesn''''t like to cultivate barley. This study was conducted to investigate the optimum post harvest management of bulk-harvested barley using rice processing complex (RPC). Bulk-harvested barley was stored to 61.1% after 6pm at RPC. Grain moisture contents of bulk-harvested barley differed from storing date, farmer household, and field. Required dry hours were different with grain moistures contents. The average dry hour was 9.5 hours per 10a and dry rate was 0.89%. The proportion of impurity removed by coarse cleaning differed from grain moisture contents, as higher grain moisture content made impurity rate increase up to 38.9%. Cost of drying of bulk-harvested barley was 50won per ㎏ at above 24% of grain moisture contents, and the average dry cost was 41.25 won/㎏ and 14,400won/10a. The 62% of barley treated was stored in indoor-grain bin, and the others packed in 500 ㎏-poly con bag were stored in warehouse insulated. 미곡종합처리장을 이용한 보리 산물수매 체계를 조사 분석하여 보리의 산물수매를 확대를 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 실시하였다. 1.보리의 입고는 오전 10시부터 시작되었고, 오후 3시 이후에는 전체 산물 수매량의 61.1%가 입고되었다. 입고된 보리의 일별 평균 수분함량은 15.8-29.6%범위이었고, 건조기에 투입된 보리의 날짜별, 농가별, 필지별 수분함량의 변이가 켰다. 2. 건조 시간은 투입되는 보리의 수분함량에 따라 차이가 많았으며, 평균 건조시간은 9.5시간, 평균 건감율은 0.89% 이었다. 수분함량이 너무 높으면 건조시간이 많이 소요되고 투입구나 저류부의 탱크를 막는 고장의 원인이 되고, 품질이 떨어지므로, 후작물 재배에 지장이 없는 한 늦게 수확하는 것이 좋을 것으로 생각되었다. 3. 입고 보리에 함유된 이물질량은 보리의 수분함량 19.7-30%범위에서는 0.3-l.2%로 별 차이가 없었으나, 수분함량이 30%이상이 되면 급격히 증가하여 수분함량 38.9%에서는 이물질의 양이 5.9%로 많아졌다. 이물질 함량을 낮추기 위하여 분리능력이 좋은 조선기로 교체가 필요하였다. 4. 건조비용은 14% 종자수분 함량 환산 중량 기준으로 24% 이상은 50원, 17%이하는 30원이었다. 저장은 실내 사각빔과 폴리 콘 백에 담아 평상창고에 보관하였다. 저장 중 품질 저하를 막기 위하여 실내 또는 실외 저장사일로의 증설이 필요하였다.

보리의 산물처리 확대를 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 미곡종합처리장을 이용한 보리 산물처리시 품질변화와 생력효과를 조사 분석한 결과는 다음과 같았다. 1. 정립율은 2.5-2.2mm의 비율이 가장 많았으며, 건조방식에 따른 차이는 없었다. 2. 경도는 건조방식에 따른 차이는 없었고, 색도는 산물건조와 관행인 천일건조와 차이는 없었다. 3. 흡수율은, 고형용출물, 퍼짐성 등의 취반특성은 건조방식에 따른 차이는 없었다. 4. 산물처리에 의하여 관행의 ha당 46시간에 비하여 21시간으로 54.3%의 생력효과가 있었고, 수확 후 관리는 54.3% 생력화되었다. 5. 산물처리로 수확 후 관리노력이 관행에 비하여 ha당 25시간이 절감되어 101,83원의 경영비 절감효과가 있었다 Post-harvest treatment for barley production requires many steps including drying, cleaning, and packing, and these steps be needed many labor input. Rice processing complex (RPC) is useful for post harvest management system in rice production. However, it is rare to be used for barley production. This study was conducted to explore the variations of quality and labor saving between conventional method and bulk-management system in post-harvest using RPC. The sorting rate was not different between manual method and bulk management. The hardness of non-polished grain was ranged 10,175-10,329 g/3.14mm2 , and that for non-polished grain was higher than that for polished grain, but there was not different between drying method. There was not be showed the hunter's value such as L, a and b according to drying method. Cooking characters such as water absorption ratio, swelling ratio, and water soluble extracts by circulated or continued dryer was higher than manual drying using solar heat. Labor input per ha for each cultivation process in bulk-management of barley using rice processing complex was 21 hours, compared to 46 hr/ha in the conventional method, labor input was greatly saved by up to 54.3% in the post-harvest bulk management system.
