There still remained disorder, insanitation, vulnerableness of fire and unreasonable transactions at Youngsun Market in Daegu City. The distribution section in Korea indicates two aspects. One is to break from premoderization the other is to follow old habit. At this transitional stage, we have to employ a policy prudently and also need some research. At this juncture, to active Youngsun Market, it might be considered as follows: 1) The products by floor should be displayed based on consumer buying habit and the buildings should have some particular attraction enough to induce consumer. 2) The bulletin board which shows a category of business, official announcement etc. has to be established near a main traffic road an entrance. 3) Youngsun Market needs public facilities for the increase of consumption knowledge and enlightenment. 4) Open-air stalls, cheap salonns and restaurants should be located in a given area for environmental purification of market. 5) The establishment of organization like Quality Inspection Committe and Price Assessment Committe is needed to control the quality and price of selling goods in Youngsun Market. 6) The risk of fire is so serious that self fire fighting organization has to be established. 7) Large supermarket in 3 houses has an impact on other transaction and expedites the improvement of management in Youngsun market. It is urgely demanded that Chilsung market should be modernized to keep step with the modernization of all phases of city life. In recent two or three years, there are modernization movements like construction of the modern market building at Chilsung market. But we must fully examine characters of the market, sales methods of the existing merchant and kinds of customers going and coming before the removal of the existing market, and then take the basic course of management of market building and arrange goods properly by the floors according to the basic courses. We must arrange each floor goods according to the customer's purchasing custom of each goods and endow special attractiveness to absorb customer to the building; We must make layout plan of the market before construction of building, then design the building and arrange the market according to layout plan after construction of building. In conclusion, there are lots of probloms to be studied in the modernization work of Chilsung market.

Seomun market in Daegu city has not been threatened its position up to now but as a matter of fact Seomun market is losing its customer in the parts of textiles, clothes, household furnishings and processed foods and so on because of the appearance of the new organization-Department Store, Super-market and Arcade. But Seomum market still remain in its powerful position because of unchanged buying pattern of customer, buying habit of customer and income level. The distribution organizations in Korea have both the phase of recovering promodernity and the phase of following the old order. It is necessary that we should be prudent to the policy to be taken and it needs to be studied in this transitional period.
