      • Hume의 「動物의 理性」에 關한 批判

        The purpose of this thesis is a criticism on Hume's animal reason. Hume insist that an animal has thought and reason like a man. The man pursues the pleasure and avoid the pain. In this sense, the animal acts like the man. With this kind of external similarity we may analogize that the man as well as the animal have the thought and reason. It is told that the difference between the man and the animal is the reason. According to Aristotle, the man is animal rationale. And the rationalist buck as Descartes, Spinoza and Leibnitz, etc. assorted that man has innate treason. But Hume protested that theory based on the empirical position. Hume denied that the man has born with the innate reason. In recent time, Cassirer argued that the man has a symbolic ability based on the theory of Funktionskreis of Uexku‥ll. Cassirer continued to assist that the man has the feature of language with the symbol. With the language, the man bas developed the human culture. Blanshard classified four differences between the man and the animal: 1.Animal thought is tied to perception; human thought is not. 2.The cleverest of animal mind is brought to a stop by the hurdle of an abstraction; man takes the hurdle in the stride whenever he use language. 3.The animal mind cannot infer explicitly ; human minds can. 4.Human reason has added an extra dimension to the animal consciousness in the form of self-consiousness. According to the consideration as I mentioned above, I have concluded that the assumption of Hume's theory has made the fault analogy.

      • 國民倫理 敎育에 관한 調査硏究

        The subject of National Ethics has been lectured at a college for 6 years so far since the establishment of the subject in 1970. Although there have been several studies on education of this subject so far, most of such studies were made on how to teach the subject. The major purpose of this study is to fulfill effects of the education of this subject in future by measuring views of the value of current college students and effect of the education which were given to them. The questionaires were given to 3,000 college students of 15 colleges and universities all over the country, and 2,259 replies were collected. The contents of the questionaires consist of six parts : human understanding, value, nation democracy, criticism on communism and the method of education. 92.8% of the college students think that human has special feature, that is, reason, which discriminates from other animal in human understanding. This shows that most of the college students have traditional and classic understanding on human being. In view of value, they show comparatively great cliffs between actual life and ideal thinking. That is, there is considerable distance between actual conduct and decision on good or bad. In the investigation on this field, approximately 70% of the students indicated approbation on the view of traditional value and 15% of the students have modern scientific view which has been cultivated recently in this country. In view on nation, 37% of the students have optimastic views and 16% have pessmistic view; the students who are proud of traditions and culture of the native country are 23% and 16% of the students feel shame, and it seems that optimistic view has gradually been increased in the view on national progress. In connection with democracy, some of the students acknowledge the principle of democracy as ideal, but 72% of the students are agreeable for the necessity of the revised democracy in Korea according to the realistic situation. In criticism on communism, the students who oppose to the communism without any reservation were 37% and 58% acknowledge the theory of communism favorable but oppose it only because of the communist system is not desirable. This shows that much more emphasis should be given on theoretical criticism in future education. Regarding method of education, two kinds of method, types of lecture and seminar, have been applied, but 78% of the students request for the type of seminar instead of the lecture type for the educational method of National Ethics.
